They want the usb one because it's digital. The 3.5mm one is analog. You can keep your current headset if you get a 3.5mm to usb adapter.

As far as I know they all want USB headsets. You can get them for a good price at Wal-Mart or even office max.

Amazon has a microsoft usb headset for around $20 and its great. The speakers sound better than my $100 headphones and the mic is fantastic.

Most companies are pretty strict about it and want you to have the usb. I even know some that want you to use a very specific one that they will send to you for a small amount of your first and second paycheck.

I'm with Convergys and we can use either but they recommend the analog and not the USB.. crazy, right? I can hear the difference in our group of agents!
