Hello,

I got an email from Uber in my city about being invited to a conference/meeting for 3 hours to learn about the opportunity. I haven't even had an interview but was told to watch videos, upload my vehicle info (which I don't want to do until I have been offered a job), and then to come to the conference to pick up my phone to get started. I'm confused. I thought people were going through an intense interview process and it was difficult to get on. I've emailed the guy back but haven't heard back from him yet.

Can anyone provide VALUABLE information about this? Has anyone had this happened to them. I did complete the background check.

Sounds to me like they're contacting you regarding a position to be a driver for them.

I agree with Nattie. This definitely sounds like they are contacting you to be a driver for them. Completely different job. Maybe they thought you were applying for the driver gig?
