Default Resume Objective vs. Profile?

It appears that resumes are using profiles versus job objectives. Do you use a profile, which essentially is about 4 sentences that describes your experience and what you can offer the company you're applying at, or do you use the basic objective?

I always use and recommend a profile form. I find that MOST of the time the objective only shows you whether an applicant is lazy or not. A good objective will always be something to the extend of attaining a <what your hiring for> position with < your company or a company like yours> doing <what your job description says>. Generalized objectives show a lack of effort, in my opinion.

Now to go against my own statement, sometimes you can learn something useful. I am currently hiring a position advertised around $65k a year and had an applicant send in a resume with something along the lines of "to earn a six-figure income within two years" kindly letting me know that he's probably not a good long-term fit.
