I found a transcription place that pays well and has comprehensive training documents when you sign up. I think it's really interesting, the first video you watch is of an ex-wife talking about her marriage and stuff for a show, and you hear the director telling her how to say her script, etc. Just click the link and sign up, pretty quickly you'll get an email so you can log in to the site and get started. I'm still dLing the docs and learning about how it works. You have to insert time tags too. https://www.terescription.com/site/t...berSignUp.aspx

Do you have to have experience?

Just so you guys know, it requires a foot pedal. It will have to be purchased to do the work if you don't already have one.

I read that also but did notice that you can use the software but the pedal is much quicker and easier. I signed up yesterday so I'm going to give it a try later in the day. Won't hurt none

I signed up, too and also read in the email that you can use their software to do the first sample script that you will be sending in to the trainer to review, to see if the job is a good fit for you before you buy a foot pedal. I also went to the site they gave and saw one on there for 58.50, I don't know if that's a bargain or not (never bought a foot pedal before), but that looked like a good price to me.

This sounds interesting. I'm going to check out the site. And yes $58.50 is an excellent price for a foot pedal. They sure have come down plenty from about 6 years ago, when I first started out in transcription. I paid $70 for one from Stop/Start in 2003 and that was a bargain for that one. I was only able to get it at that price, because the company I was hired by called CyberSecretaries had a contract with Stop/Start to offer it to its workers at that low rate. If you weren't working for CyberSecretaries' as a contracted worker, you had to pay around $200 back then to get one. So, if you decide to do the transcription, you should definitely jump on a foot pedal for that low cost. Hope this works out for someone. For those who try it, give us a report as to how you like it and if it will be a decent paying egg to fry. And let us know if you get paid in a timely fashion. Happy Sunday all!!!!!!!!!! |
