I have a few questions regarding the testing for Escriptionist. They have sent me 2 test files. Do you have to email them the time on the test files before you start them just as if it were a "real" job like it says? Do they consider repeating a few words as stuttering or is stuttering the u u usual form we think of? I did the first test job yesterday (have not submitted it) and that 5 minutes seemed to take me forever!

Thanks in advance for any help and/or words of wisdom you can give.

I have never had to email them a time for anything. So I would say that part is a no. And when they repeat the same word over and over it's not only stuttering, it's a false start, which means it needs to be left out. I hope that makes sense...

In regular work, but not the test files, you're supposed to email them that the time on the file you downloaded matches the time they told you in the email so they know right away if there's a discrepancy.

Hi everyone- I just sent in my test files this afternoon. How quickly is everyone hearing back these days? I saw from an old thread that some people got an answer almost immediately- others took a week or more. I'm so anxious to hear- any feedback?

Thanks!

tjsmom,

I received a response about 2 hours after sending in my test files. But now I'm waiting for them to set me up on their server and that's been a couple of days. Maybe they're experiencing a bit of a backup?

For the veterans, how long did it take you to get set up onthe server?

Ceelovejay-

Thank you for the feedback. I'm a little nervous because I sent them in around 2:30 pm EST and did not hear anything back today. that might be a bad sign for me.Hopefully I'll hear tomorrow.

Don't worry, I didn't hear back from them for several days and it has been weeks for others. I do believe they will let you know one way or the other.

Thanks 3under3- that makes me feel better. I'm sure I did well on the tests, but its the anticipation that gets to me!

It took over a month after I sent in the test files for me to hear anything. I had given up with them. As for getting set up on the server, that took about a day for me. They told me they put a test file on there, just to make sure I was seeing things okay, and that confused me because I thought something was wrong when I didn't see it. Turns out, they didn't put anything on it for me, until they sent me work - without me asking for it yet.
