Question Shocked to find Tastefully Simple on Amazon.com

I've always thought that Tastefully Simple was a very well known party plan company. Why then is it being sold on Amazon ? A friend of mine challenged me to check this out ... and I did.

Much to my surprise, there are over 2500 "results" on Amazon for Tastefully Simple. My question is this: Has the "party plan" business model changed or is this the new way to sell Tastefully SImple now ?

Just wondering... I hope my questions here can generate some discussion. Is the party plan business model fizzling out ?

PS: How can consultants be profitable in this business if they're in competition on Amazon ? I welcome your thoughts.

Tastefully Simple prohibits consultants from selling on both eBay and Amazon. This is NOT a part of our business model.

Red face

Keep in mind that ANYONE can sell ANYTHING on Amazon. This could be former distributors selling off their inventory, it could be people selling stuff against policy, etc.

I don't rep TS, but another DS company, and it's way too hard to compete online. Keep it local, do parties with friend/family/acquaintances, do trade/vendor shows, and there is a way to make money in most of these businesses.

I've been doing a lot of vendor shows lately and making a ton of money - but vendor shows aren't for everyone. The bottom line is that your friends and family trust you as much or more than they trust Amazon. If they know you sell the product, they will always go to you first.
