Question of the Week 2012: Are you a pessimist or an optimist?

I tried to be an optimist, but it was hopeless 8=)

All kidding aside, I am basically an optimist but I get my moments. Like Scot said, I'm "cautiously optimistic."

But I learned fairly young in life that if you are not able to be happy in the rain then you'll be miserable for over half of your life about things you can't control.

I used to be an optimist but have changed in that regards recently.

When I was younger, I was extremely optimistic. In recent years, although I wouldn't classify myself as a pessimist, I am less optimistic. If a true optimist is 100%, I am at about 70% now.

I am kinda in between. I liked to call myself a realist. It just depends on the situation.

I think I'm more of a pessimist because I like nice surprises and not disappointments.

Of the two choices, I would say I am an optimist, but I prefer the term realist. I definitely like to see the chance for opportunity and happiness in everything, but I recognize my limitations as well.
