Default Hello everyone

Hey everyone, I'm new to this forum, and just teaching myself how to get around. I've been working straight out of high school (many moons ago) 1969. I worked for a bank for a good 10 years, after that, I worked different jobs, several medical office, last one was for a Chiropractic office, I really enjoyed it, but had to give up working back 2004, when I had to care for my mother. I took care of her for 12 years, during that time I took advantage of attending The University of Phoenix, I received my AA in Criminal Justice, BS Health Admin/HIS, MS in Psychology, and another MS in Administration of Justice and Security. I was very busy with college and I sure did enjoy learning. With the passing of my mother I found myself looking for a job with no luck what so ever. Being out of work for 12 years is not a good sign. I'm retired, stay home and care for my cats. Living in this complex, I was able to feed to the stray cats, till they put a stop to it. I love my furry friends, have gave home to a couple of them, have also saved several of them. I have 2 girls, one is still at home with me. she will be 26 years old. My oldest is 46 and out of the house. , Now I'm looking to find a work at home job, since I don't have a car, plus most job out there need people to work on weekend and different hours at night. (can't do that) Anyway, I hope to meet as many you of as I can, and I like to say Thank you for accepting me.

Welcome Rachel.

Sounds to me like your first step is to figure out what type of work you want to do from home. Then you can search related areas of the forum and member signatures to see what appeals to you.

With your background, the legal and medical areas should provide you with plenty of opportunities.

Hi Rachel and welcome to wahm! I wish you lots of luck finding a job that works for you! Be sure to check the telecommuting folder out, lots of jobs posted there. If you can do a phone job, there is usually quite a few to choose from.

Hi Rachel. Welcome to WAHM!

Have you ever considered teaching ESL online? You have a very diverse background, and I think you'd enjoy the connections made with learners from across the globe.
If you're interested in learning more, send me a private message.

Enjoy your day!

Hi Rachel,

Being from a small town, I definitely understand the job situation. When you are without transportation in a bedroom community, online jobs are really your only choice. I'm also a Psych major (working on my Bachelor's) so I am hoping you'll have some tips/advice and we'll become quick friends.
