Default Hello from New York!

Just wanted to say hi, and introduce myself. I've been working from home for close to six years now, doing internet work for a company out West. It's great....most times.....but there can be times when my wife is the only live human being that I see for days on end

Do you ever feel like you're both blessed to be working at home but at the same time under house arrest? I'm sure there's a few of you out there that do

Welcome Omega! I think that can be a problem for a lot of people who work at home.

I work full-time away from home and part time "at home," but even then I sometimes go to Starbucks just to get away and focus more. It's hard to focus fully at home sometimes.

Anyway, there's a ton of good information on this site. Browse the various forums, and you're sure to learn a lot!

Let me know if I can ever be of any help.

Welcome to the forum Omega.

I love working at home and the extra time it gives me with family. I make sure to get out of the house sometimes. It's a nice break from the computer.

Thumbs up Getting sunshine is important

I have been working home off and on since I was 16. About 10 years ago, suddenly felt that way. My husband now still does not understand why I want to take my breaks on the porch or standing in the driveway. When you are working from home, the lack of sunshine makes you want to do things that may seem strange to your family. I stand in the driveway and feel the wonderful sun's rays on my face. It is only a few minutes but it certainly makes you appreciate it!

Also, when I have errands to do, I try to separate them into a couple today, a few tomorrow, etc. My husband hates it but it gets me out of the house and allows me some human interaction outside of being at home all. the. time.

Hope this helps!

Smile Hello

I love working from home but it can feel like house arrest - I keep pretty active in our church and have 6 grandkids - they keep us on our toes!!! I just try to make sure I get out a bit - meet a friend for coffee...something to break up being at home ALL the time.
