So my name name is Sara and I stumbled across this site while researching the work from home field.
![]() I'm a stay at home mom and Navy wife. My girl is going to be starting kindergarten this summer so I decided to start looking for some income opportunities that can be done from home. My husband being in the military makes my schedule a difficult thing to manage when it comes to working, as I want to be available for my daughter as much as possible. I hope to get some good information and support from this site as I figure this out. ![]() I've been taking an online course to try and refine my typing skills but apparently I'm not as good a typist as I thought I was and I'm trying not to let myself get discouraged. But I'm definitely not a sales/party type of person, and my husband works the afternoon shift so I really don't have any quiet time for call center type jobs, so my options are a little limited. I'm also a self described hermit and people are not in my comfort zone. But I'm optimistic that I will find an opportunity that will work for me. At least I'm hoping that this site will help with that. So yeah, Hi! ![]() |

Welcome Sara and yes, sometimes it takes a bit to find our niche and even then sometimes it changes as we go. We learn, grow and develop - always! I'm 51 and still learning!
There are a couple of sites I have worked through over the years that have a large variety of work from home jobs. You may want to check them out. Both are free. They are Elance.com and Guru.com. I have done administrative work in the past and even with administrative work there are things you can bid on a large variety of things that don't always include a lot of typing skills. They both work like Ebay - you bid on the jobs and if the "buyer" hires you, you will obviously need to do a good job and do it within the time constraints agreed upon and then the buyer will rate you - and you them at the end of the job. As you build your reputation you can bid on and get higher paying jobs. PM me if you have any questions. Of course that's one of many ways that you can make money online - I'm sure you'll find your niche soon! Theresa |

Welcome to WAHM Sara.
Like you, I am not the sales party type either. I can't imagine having to get people to hold parties. But there is no one type of business right for everyone, which gives you many more choices. There are many businesses represented here on WAHM. There are likely a few that would be a good fit for you. Do lots of research (on 3rd party sites), and ask lots of questions before starting a business with anyone. Good luck with whatever position you choose. |
