Summer is coming up and I want to show my daughter the true spirit of being an Entreprenuer...so I was thinking of getting her a Lemonade stand...

Plus some children today were selling Kool Aid and I decided to purchase some just to encourage them earning their own money...it was cute (I tipped them a Dollar and the Large Kool Aid was .35 cents)

Have any of you ever helped your children with a Lemonade stand? What was their experience? Did your kids have fun?

My daughter will be 5 in August....

When we have garage sales, we always let our children sell candy or drinks (cold drinks are always a hit on hot days) to make extra money for them. We've never actually bought a lemonade stand, but I've seen them in the catalogs and think they are very cute! There's always nice people like yourself that will buy from children just because it excites them so much.

Try the Sunkist.com site.

They have a lot of info on running a stand. I got a lemonade stand and supplies last year from them for signing up my dd's to have a stand and donate the money to a worthy cause/charity. Edited by: Mothermomtotwo

We`ve done it- and the kids always have fun. They like to sell cookies with their lemonaide.

My 6 year old badly wants to do a lemonade stand. My husband's been out
of work and she's so sure that she can make a difference for us. It's
just so sweet... and our street is SOOO quiet! We'd have to walk a ways
to get any traffic at all.

Yes actually today when I mentioned to my partner about doing a lemonade stand, he thought it was a good idea and suggested that she do it at the annual yard sale that his parent's has...so we are going to do that...

Here is the stand I am going to get her: (Its about $30 before shipping)

You can do a really cute lemonade stand without buying anything like that, although it is cute.
Just set up a folding table and line it with a colorful tablecloth (yellow is perfect if you are selling lemonade!) get some yellow balloons to string around, have your DD make a cute lemonade for sale sign and voila! Anyway, just an idea to save you a few bucks.

DS sold some bottled water before we moved into our new house when we had a yard sale to get rid of some stuff. We werent super busy but I think he still made about $20 profit and had a great time. We thought bottled water would be less messy than spilled lemonade and kool-aid and easier to keep cold. Just pulled them right out of an ice chest.

Good luck, hope your DD has fun!

eta: If you do a tablecloth, you will need to weight down or clamp down the corners incase of wind.

I think the little lemonade stand is adorable and will make your daughter feel like a true little business woman!
