Question Lionbridge or Appen Butler Hill?

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and I have the opportunity to do qualification tests for the position of a web search engine evaluator for both Lionbridge and Appen Butler Hill. As I know how much work the qualification exams require, I was wondering which one could be the best choice for me?

Do you have any idea whether the LB exam is easier than the ABH exam? I have read a lot of negative things about the difficult qualification process at ABH.

Do you know how Appen Butler Hill pays their evaluators? I heard they pay via Paypal, which I would prefer. Lionbridge only pays via direct deposit, as far as I know (they are partners with Payoneer, but it seems you cannot be paid via Payoneer by LB).

Do you know what the difference in pay is regarding both of these companies? I heard ABH pays around 13-15 US Dollars an hour, but what about LB?

I also read that Lionbridge expects their raters to work at least 10 hours a week. Is this true? And is it a problem if one cannot always work all of these minimum hours? Appen Butler Hill expects around 20 hours a week. Is there anyone who is working for them and working less than that? I would prefer being more flexible in choosing my hours. 10-15 hours is my maximum usually.

I would be very grateful if anyone could answer my questions!

Thank you so much for your time & thank you in advance for your help!

whether which exam is easier depends on the questions for that particular time and how prepared someone is. But I have heard a lot of people going for ABH. I hope someone replies with the payment information.

ABH requires 20 hours a week. You can not do less. I just went through their whole testing process and that is stated numerous times.

ABH does require 20 hours per week minimum, unless you are crowd sourcing. The pay is the same between the two companies. ABH pays by mailed check or direct deposit for people in the USA, and Paypal for out of the country workers. I have worked for ABH for 9 months now, the tests were hard, the work is subjective and can be frustrating, but that's why the pay is so good for stay at home work. I would look for something somewhere other than ABH if you cannot commit to 20 hours/week.
