Any marathoners out there? I ran the Detroit Marathon in 2005 and the Chicago Marathon in 2007 (for the Arthritis Foundation)...yep, the one with all the water and heat problems!

Would love to chat with other Marathoners or runners!

Thanks,
Kevin

I'm not a marathoner, but I dream of running a 1/2 marathon one of these days! :)

Good luck, Jenn!

Check out this book, "</span>The Non-Runner's Marathon Trainer" when you decide to start training. It's an excellent resource even if you're a runner!

Hi Kevin,
I am not a runner yet! But I plan on training for a charity even for a children's cancer center here in Long Beach, which will happen in June. I figure that is the next step on the journey of mine.

How long have you been running? And how did you do at the the Detroit and Chicago marathons?

Kevin,

I "used" to be a marathoner ... and shall be again someday ... (smile) ...

I've run about 10 marathons ... and about an equal number of "ultra"-marathons ... now those were interesting ...

If you can do a marathon ... you can do an ultra ... they were actually a lot more fun for me ... long and slow ... definitely a challenge to the body ... the spirit ... and the mind ...

Congrats on your marathons in Detroit and Chicago ... did you meet any goal times you were shooting for??

Raymond

Hey Kevin!

I have done a marathon and an Iron man in the past couple years. I was involved with a Leadership Training Academy and we trained together for these events and did them together as a group! It was a challenge and it felt so good to be done, you know the feeling!

Im not, but I would love to train. I am at the very beginning of getting in shape, so I have a while to go.

I remember reading about the Chicage Marathon.. did you get super dehydrated? It was awful!

I used to run marathons. I did the Detroit in 96 and Bayshore in Traverse City, mi in 97. Wow, that was a long time ago. I am going to start running distance again this Summer and want to do a half marathon in the Fall.
