Default My new healthy toy....

So, after months of pining after it, I finally got myself a Nutribullet. It's trial and error since I only did some quicky produce shopping the day I got it, but today hubby will be grocery shopping and will be picking up some more essential fruits and veggies for more variety. I found one recipe of my own that I am enjoying quite a bit, with variations here n there.

1-2 hand-fulls of baby spinach
1 handful of frozen tropical fruit (mine was a mix of mango, papaya, strawberry, & pineapple)
1/2 a kiwi, peeled
1/2 to max line with coconut water, rest of the way spring or distilled water

or my other fave is

1-2 hand-fulls of baby spinach
1 cup blueberries or mixed berries
1 banana
1/2 to max line with coconut water, rest of the way spring or distilled water or all water.

I do frozen fruits other than the banana to eliminate the need for ice. I prefer cold smoothies. I leave it "extracting" closer to 2 minutes to 1) break down as much of the seeds from the raspberries as possible (yes they are barely noticeable at that point) and 2) to make it as close to juice as possible.

I found some recipes in the book I'm eager to try. Does anyone else have the Nutribullet? If so, what recipes in the book do you like? If not, what fruit/veggie combos do you mix together in whatever blender you have? Just looking for some ideas and suggestions

Don't have a Nutribullet, but love making protein smoothies for breakfast....usually just fruit ones with almond milk.

Dark Chocolate Raspberry Mocha

1 Cup Dark Chocolate Almond Milk
1/2 C fresh or frozen raspberries
1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder
1 or 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules

Put in blender and blend away.....very yummy!

Very cool! Been wanting to get one of those. I just wish I had more cupboard space.

I don't have the Nutribullet but do have the Ninja and use it make my morning smoothies. Love it! I usually use frozen organic fruit also- easier to keep and store. Beets and celery are also regulars for me.
