Well Easter finished,I moved back to the UK from Italy for the forseeable future, feel settled after 6 weeks of major stress.
Now to tackle the extra padding around my tummy and waist.
Day 1 of my diet=hell
I feel snappy,tired,huge sugar withdrawal,bleh
I want/need to lose 14-21lbs to get to my ideal weight.
Its all hanging around my middle, after I had my second son who will be 3 in July I have been somewhat halfhearted in shifting that last bit.
Any words of advice to stop me from caving on day 1?
It doesnt help that the house is full of easter eggs and my husband is a chef -aarrgh!
Please say it gets better

Sounds like you have a lot going on!!

Congrats on the move and on feeling settled.

You can do it with the weight loss!! I'm sure you know what to do, it's just a matter of doing it. Can you throw out those Easter eggs? Sometimes I just have to get the food away to avoid the temptation. But I can't always do that because of my kids. And I do like the OCCASIONAL treat.

Is your husband able to cook healthy meals? Can you get recipes off the internet for him to try.

Try telling yourself it's a a challenge. Challenge yourself to lose those last few pounds. Are you exercising? If not, is there a way you can work it into your life?

Good luck and keep us posted!!

Hi Lisa,thanks for the encouragement
I am sticking to my healthy eating lifestyle.
I refuse to 'diet' as I don't see it as a longterm solution.
I need something I can feel happy staying with longterm.
DH is helping.I have told him this will benefit the whole family, not just me.
So we have been eating lots of seafood, fish(which I love),white meat, less refined carbs, extra veggies and its getting easier.
I haven't had chocolate in days and days now!
The one thing that is a treat to me is a grande skinny hot choc from Starbucks which helps me feel like I am not punishing myself.
Exercise I have to get it into a regular schedule.
I used to kickbox 5 days a week before I had my second son and loved it.
I walk everywhere so that is a start and I am toning at night.
I just have to get a high impact exercise going that I can do and fit around kids, home, work etc
Thanks for your post Lisa

CONGRATS Kara on starting a "healthy lifestyle" I am glad you are using that term instead of diet because you are right DIETS are not longterm solution. I know the first couple days are rough but you will get through it ok! Just think of how awesome you will look in a new smaller sized pair of jeans, and all the compliments that you will get.
