I have no excuse to NOT work out.

I don't have time, I don't have energy, and I just had a baby...but, I am still not working out!

I went to a yoga class a few weeks ago and LOVED it. But, now I am back to work and it is TOO hard to get my kids after work, come home, cook dinner, and spend time with the family...then take the kids to a sitter, go to yoga, pick them up, come home, get ready for bed, etc...

I have a library of videos at home that I don't use. I already am up at 4:30 AM, so getting up earlier is totallly out of the question!

The one REALLY positive thing here is there is a gym AT MY WORK and I am allowed 3 (paid) hours per week during my working hours to work out.

But, am I? No. I just got back to work this week...and I am motivated in my mind...but not my body.

Have you thought about working out at the gym at work right after you are done for the day? Can your kids stay at the sitter's an extra half an hour? Exercising then would give you lots of energy for your family at night.


Here's hoping your body catches up with your mind!

Thanks, but that would be a waste of money. There is a gym here at work.

I actually talked to a girl about working out together.

Great! A workout buddy may be a great motivator.

You may have misunderstood me- I meant using the gym at work- instead of going to your car you go to the gym first.

I would definitely agree with Maureen's suggestion to hit your work gym after your shift before you head to the sitter's. If you really want to work out, you'll just have to make time to do it[img]smileys/smiley2.gif[/img] I look forward to hearing all about your workouts. You CAN make it work!

I think having a workout buddy can be great too and of course we are all here to cheer you on.

Yep, I read it and didn't "see" it until I re-read it. Sorry! LOL

I know it's a good idea and logical...but I just can't seem to get motivated! UGH

One thing that helped me when I got back into a regular workout routine after a 5 year hiatus was writing my scheduled times to workout in my calendar. I just had to think of it as an appointment like any other appointment.

Plus, with 3 hours of paid work time per weekto workout you are GETTING PAID to workout. Not using that time is like throwing money away. It's a great perk that many other people would LOVE to have.

Also, start out slow. Don't burn out the first few times you work out. You may not want to go back. It can take time to build up your stamina again. Maybe start with 20 minutes a day for the first week and work your way up another 5 or 10 minutes per week.

How old is your baby? Are you possibly going thru post partum depression? Do you have help at home? I do feel for ya. I had 4 kids within 6 years on top of having fibromyalsia, chronic fatigue syndrom, and a heart condition. Maybe your body just needs more time. Maybe you'll feel much better when the weather starts to turn nice and you can get some excerise outside walking with your kids.

Plus, when I lose weight...how in the world am I going to afford new clothes?

Okay- get that thought out of your mind right now! Not productive!
