I have noticed that my nose gets 'stuffy' when I eat anything that contains wheat/gluten products.

Lethargy, extreme fatigue, bloating, constipation, gas(I know - TMI), sometimes feeling like I'm hung over, just feeling like total crap basically....LOL
But see, I'm not sure if mine is carb related or the wheat/gluten. That's why I want to get tested because I feel the same when I eat any type of bad carbs such as white bread, etc., as I do when I eat wheat bread or whole grain bread. But then again, I think white bread has gluten too? ![]() ![]() I ate a wheat roll yesterday and knew I would pay for it and I did. I mean by the end of the day,my stomach looked like I was about 4 months pregnant - I kid you not,and it had been flat, and I just felt likepoo for the rest of the day. That's why I went back to making sure I get my workouts in in the a.m. because it's hard to tell what I'll eat and how I'll feel later on. Honestly, it is extremelydifficult to find products that do not contain wheat or gluten. When I did my cleanse is when I found out how hard it really is. I mean it was so frustrating. But then again, I live in a rural area and only have 1 health food store in the next town over, and she doesn't carry a lot of stuff. So it may be easier for you to find products that don't contain those ingredients. Anyway, I eat a lot of protein, very little bread now at all, even wheator whole grain (yeah, I messed up yesterday - one of these days I'll learn my lesson...lol). Today I'm going purely fruits and veggies and not sure what I'm having for dinner - maybe a cheeseburger without the bread. I also do shakes and/or smoothies for breakfast, sometimes eggs but not often "real" food for breakfast because I'm just not a breakfast eater. Chicken, turkey, and fish a good bit too. Most times I just eat and suffer, really, but I came to the conclusion last night that I am going to have to start eating completely, 100%clean, which means: Fresh lean meat Fresh veggies Fresh fruit Nonfat dairy (but have to limit because of the dairy allergy thing) Complex Carbs Don't feel down, tho'! It can be done! |

I've noticed that since I've been on the Candida Cleanse and now the fruit flush, I do beter without dairy and grains as well.I read somewhere that it's estimated that 70% of people have a wheat/gluten allergy!
![]() Here are so gluten free options: Corn Tortillas Corn Bread Potato bread Ezekiel 4:9 bread Whole foods and sprouts have lots of other gluten free options, but those I listed are probably the easiet to find. |

Well, thank you ladies for your support & suggestions.
I do feel much better. I've felt bad before when I've ate bread (wheat) & such but NEVER this bad, so it got me worried a bit. I'm thinking that my body went into a defense mode since I started adding wheat soon after I finished the cleanse & it just flaired my wheat allergies up???? Since I had been on very low calories for three days (less than 1,000), I wanted to up my calories to maintenance (more than 2000 a day) so I wouldn't go into severe starvation mode. I did eat a lot of wheat and cheese (although besides milk, I don't think anything else that is dairy affects me.) Anyhow... I didn't eat any bread today or any food that contained wheat and I feel much better. ( I did eat 1/2 cup of oatmeal which contains gluten - I think, but did not have any symptoms). I am not bloated & don't look like i'm 4 months pregnant anymore! I ate potatos, yams & lots of veggies instead and wasn't dragging around like a zombie! I will have to stop by Sun Harvest this weekend and pick myself up some Ezequiel Bread & see if I can find wheat free/gluten free stuff. Thanks again everyone! ~ Vilma |

Try coconut flour for baking. It is really low in carbs too.

Thanks for the tip Crystal. I will look into it this weekend.
I don't want to feel like this EVER again so it looks like i'll have to make some drastic changes in my diet in regards to wheat & gluten. |

I was going to suggest Candida as well. I'm starting a cleanse for it on Monday or Tuesday (once my supplements get here). I self tested and I tested really really high.
Its just a thought. Candidathrives on sugar, which is what fruit and gluten break down to pretty fast. Here is a link to a supper simple test you can do at home, http://www.adhdrelief.com/CandidaTest.html Hope you are feeling better soon! |
