I've always had mild to moderate cramps during my cycle, but the more weight I lose the worse they get.

On a scale from 1 to 10 they are a 15. My cycle will only last 3-4 days, but the first day, I'm practically imobile. I can barely move or sit. I normally can take Aleve, or Ibuprofen, but now that isn't offering any relief. Afterthe first day it's smooth sailing, no cramps at all....

I made an appointment last week to see my Dr, but the earliest appt is June 29. I absolutely can't go thru another cycle in pain. The last 2 months' I've had to take a day off from work because of the pain.

Was the fat cushioning the cramps? Has anyone else experienced this?

Cheryl,
I'm not sure what it is because since I have lost weight, my cramps have been 99.9% better than they used to, they were terrible.

I hope someone can shed some light and I wish you could get in to the doc sooner.

Sorry you have to deal with that.

It sounds like Endometriosis of possible a fibroid (My mom and a sister at my church have these and they have debilitating cramps too.) Until you can get to a doc though, try MSM. I've heard from a lot of ladies that it gets rid of their mentral pian. Omega 3's help me as well. Hope you feel better!Mine is 2 days late and no cramps in sight....I hate when it sneaks up on my like that!

Here's one: http://www.vitacost.com/NSI-MSM-Methyl-sulfonylmethaneI prefer pill form to the powder. Most people who have a sulfur allergy do not react negatively to organic MSM. It does great things for the hair, skin and nails too (though you may break out the first 2 days, after it clears up you'll have almost no skin issues!). Also, don't mega dose. I got a little overzealous and started taking 10,000mg a day and it messed with my periods. But then again, it may not have been the MSM because my periods had been jacked for months prior.
