HI Everyone,

Ok here is my question.... at this point I need to flatten my belly. I am not allowed to do sit ups or crunches because of my neck and back, and I am only allowed to walk 3 times a week at 15 minutes a pop...no running for me! I am allowed to do light cardio which I do....and I do alot of stretching ( I stretch everyday at home and 3 times a week in physical therapy). I just don't know what to do to get my tummy flattened. I do hold my stomach in while walking and while doing my stretches and stuff, but are there other ways I can get my abs flatter without actualy doing a sit up or crunch? I can't cause anymore stress to my back or neck.
Any suggestions would be GREAT!!
Thanks bunches!

I saw a segment on Rachael Ray with LL Cool J... he showed her how to do a stomach exercise while standing up (or sitting) and I can't remember it exactly, but it involved tightening your stomach muscles and counting to 10 and releasing. I would do as many reps as you can at time... I dont' know if you watch tv, but you could do them during the comercials.
Gook Luck!

Thanks Luci! I am going to try that. I know when I walk I hold in my stomach to help tighten them up. I also do that when I walk up and down stairs, I just can't get the darn thing to start flattening! I will try what you said and see if it helps! Thanks bunches!

Hey Dawn, cruches will not flatten your tummy, they will unly tighten and definae your musles. It won't get rid of the layer of fat on top (as I've learned. The best thing to do is what your doing. Keep it up, and you lose body fat your tummy will shrink. By the time you get your body fat low enough, you may be strong enough to do something like pilates, which definately tone,s tightens, and lengthens the abdomenal musles giving you that nice sleek flat dancer's belly Edited by: Fruta Vida Mom
