Talking My kids call this Awesomeness!

This sounds horrible.... but I swear its amazing!

12 pieces of french toast (make it how u normally would... a friend of mine even uses. frozen ones!
1lb breakfast sausage (I use turkey) crumble and fry
1 can apple pie filling
1 cup flour
1 cup oatmeal (quick oats)
3/4 cup brown sugar... (I always go over board with this)
1/2 cup butter
1 cup cheddar (shredded )

Ok... fry the sausage and make up some yummy french toast... in a cake pan make a layer using 6 of the french toast slices. Top that with the sausage and the remaining 6 french toasts.

Pour the pie filling over the top and spread evenly.

In a bowl combine melted butter, flour, oatmeal, and brown sugar (we r kind of making apple crisp topping so go nuts with it!) Crumble this over the pie filling.

Bake at *350 till the top is good and crunchy .... remember golden brown is a cooks favorite color! Sprinkle on cheese and bake till milted.

Its a mess... its so SO so worth it tho! Its also gread with blueberries (cherries aren't so wonderful according to my crew of 7) also a cream cheese frosting over the frenchtoast adds kick! Try it with bacon or ham as well!

do you cook it so it's golden brown and THEN add the cheese and bake again until melted?
