<h2>PT Multi-Media Assist - Telecommute
It's for hits4pay.com

I responded to this ad on CL. It seems legit, you basically get paid for reading emails. But I got concerned when filling out the form that requests your information for mailing your paycheck. You have to fill out a tax form, which of course asks for your SS#. When I got to that part, I got cold feet.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Or participated in it?! Thanks for your help!

Although it is legitimate for a company that is going to pay you to ask for your SSN, you definitely don't want to be giving it out to just anyone. The fact that you are hesitating at all (and that you used the word "seems") are definitely red flags. Make sure you are very comfortable and sure about this company before going any further.

I personally have never heard of them, but that doesn't mean anything. I'm not in the market for that. Continue to research them. Good luck!

What is your goal in joining them? I ask because most folks earn only pennies with paid to read emails. Your inbox ends up with 1000's of emails and you will earn only pennies.

Often, the companies won't mail you a check until you accumulate say $50 in pay. That's fine, but more often than not, the company goes out of business before you can collect your $50.

If you're searching for $50 a month, why not mystery shop? Two shops a week and you'll easily earn the $50 per month.

hits4pay doesn't sound too much like a 'business name' . I took a look at the site and it does say that they will deposit $10 in your account for signing up, but then .02 for each email read from advertisers and the payout threshold is $25.00. By doing the math, you would have to read 750 emails to get the $25.00 built up, and then 1250 after that to get another $25.00. Plus it doesn't mention if you have to click on a link in the email. Sounds a little fishy to me, but then again alot of stuff I come across online seems fishy. I haven't ever heard of them. I would go check out the advertisers and go to their websites, contact them independently and ask about hits4pay.

But any company is going to either ask for a EIN # or your social security number for payment and reporting to the IRS. By law if they pay you over $600 in a calendar year they have to report it and send you a 1099. The one that I am currently involved asked for that information. I'll definitely be making over $600 a year.
