My mom had a bilateral mastectomy due to breast cancer. She had chemo and has been cancer free for 16 years. We are thankful for every day.

My mom was diagnosed with stage 3B breast cancer in 2003. She originally had a partial mastectomy with 14 out of 15 lymph nodes positive for cancer. She had both chemo and radiation. She has been cancer free since, though she has since had both breasts removed. She remains alive and strong, though! She has a wonderful story.

I was dx at 40 years old. I had a 6 month old and an 18 month old.
I tested positive for the BRCA2 gene. I had two lumps in my left breast and suspected in my right.
Subsequently, I had a bilateral mast, 4 months of chemo, and a full hysterectomy. Surviving 6 years now!!
WOOT!
