8 a.m. - 11 p.m. Bejing time turns out 7 p.m. - 10 a.m CST. So that would mean teaching in the middle of the night for me (since I don't want to give up my evenings and I have another job in the mornings). Too bad!

I sent an e-mail (cover letter of introduction) that included the times that I am available (in the evenings per the message above) and I attached my resume. I received a response a week later that stated that I was qualified to teach for this company and I was instructed to add someone to my Skype contact list and message the times that I would be available for a meeting.

It took over a week for the person to respond to my request. I sent a few Skype messages with no response. I was going to give up on hearing from this company again until I finally received a Skype message asking where I was located and asking me about my available times. I was told that the company does not have lessons in the evenings Eastern time (U.S.) which is the morning Beijing Time. So, apparently and suddenly the available times in the ad are incorrect?

I offered to teach one day a week, but that did not work for the contact on Skype.

The Skype contact also stated that teachers are assigned to classes based on feedback from students. I'm curious to know if anyone has had a different experience with this company.

I've gone through the first interview and having the 2nd on Monday. They seem nice albeit a bit disorganised so far. I think they're just rallying their troops so maybe that's what you're experiencing :) I'd say give them another try?

Thanks for the feedback on your experience, freelancewriter. It sounds like their availability right now is the late night/early morning hours US time. That's the problem with Asia - they time zone differences are really difficult to juggle, unless you're a night owl. I know for myself, teaching for an hour or an hour and a half in the middle of the night is not for me.

Condra,

What hours were they looking for from you, evenings U.S. Time or early mornings U.S. time?

Condra,

What hours were they looking for from you, evenings U.S. Time or early mornings U.S. time?

Both, but as I am in GMT+2 atm, it was fine for me hours-wise.

Well, I was told that they only have 3 hours available, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. They did not even offer middle of the night hours, which I would have took. They never set up an interview with me.
