Hi, I'm new to the forum. I've been a Scentsy rep for 1.5 years now but I haven't really got very far with it at this point. I'm trying to build it up now, and finally have my first recruit under me! I'm trying to think of ways to advertise. I have been thinking about approaching a few businesses and offer them a warmer and wax, if in return they will have the warmer somewhere visible with my business cards. This is okay, right? As long as I'm not selling stock in a store...? Any other ways you would suggest for me to increase sales and gain new customers?

Congrats on your new recruit. With direct sales, marketing and networking typically work so much better than advertising. As you describe though, setting up a display in a business for the purpose of lead generation is perfectly acceptable, as long as - such as you describe - you're not selling out of a retail establishment.

I agree with LAscents...networking and marketing is key. My friends & family are eager to have online parties and share the product they already use and love with others. That has really helped me! It's easy for them to earn rewards and their customers can have product shipped directly to them! :)

I think that is a GREAT idea, and the possibilities are endless. Think hair salons, where the smell of products always hit you in the face Also dentist and Dr. offices, spas, etc might also go for it.
Don't waste a bunch of money on advertising, it is such a slim response you are on the right track with the physical marketing!
