I have been told that I should learn it. So I am looking to possibly be certified. Can anyone recommend manuals, books, websites etc?

Hi,
This is one of the more popular websites about Reiki I have found.
The International Center for Reiki Training (http://www.reiki.org/)
Their magazine Reiki News can sometimes be found at Barnes & Noble.
This is a link to a page on above website with a lot of archived articles.
Reiki News Article Archive (http://www.reiki.org/reikinews/reikinews.html)

Most teachers use a set of manuals from their lineage.
I use the manuals passed to me by my teacher.

Reiki training must be received in person because the attunements needed in order to receive Reiki must be passed from teacher to student in person. The Reiki attunement process enables the recipient to permanently open and connect to the Universal Reiki Energies; there are three formal levels of initiation;
I am trained in traditional Usui Reiki , and I have been a practicing Reiki Master since 1990.

Books:

Essential Reiki: A Complete Guide to an Ancient Healing Art
by Diane Stein This one is not traditional Reiki but I like it a lot.

Reiki: A Comprehensive Guide by Pamela Miles This is a good one explaining the basics of Reiki

Bright Blessings
Susan:)

PS. I am in the Raleigh NC area
