Hello everyone :)
I'm so delighted to find out about this "pets" section. Who said that hobbies have to be separated from work? haha
I currently keep a jungle carpet python, a sharp albino boa, a red tail colombian boa, an irian jaya carpet python, and 2 leopard geckos (RAPTOR and APTOR).
I used to breed leopard geckos and i am planning to start breeding sharp albino boas.
If you have ANY thoughts regarding Herpetoculture, please comment #=]
Cheers:)

Hi! I have a question. My son wants a lizard. We are no strangers to pets, but we are strangers to reptilian ones. It will not be neglected, as he isn't old enough for us to rely on him to care for it of course (he will be 5 next week). My issue is this: I hate bugs. I don't want bugs in my house. Do I have any options for FEEDING any kind of lizard that wouldn't involve bugs? Thanks!

What kind of lizard are you guys inclined to get?
Leopard geckos eat crickets, mealworms, superworms, dubia roaches (which are technically illegal in Canada) and hornworms among other insects. Mealworms and superworms look much more like worms than bugs.
You might want to consider keeping a hermit crab or a snake or crested geckos #=]
Crested geckos are also lizards buy their diet need not contain bugs. It comes in powder form which you add to water.
Check crested geckos in google. They look nice. I have kept them before and they are a joy to keep as well.

Okay I will look into crested geckos! Thanks for that tip. Really, he just says he wants a lizard, so I want one that doesn't need bugs lol!
