I'm thinking of getting a Siberian Husky puppy, and Huskies are, of course, cold weather dogs. Thing is, I live in Southern California and while I see people walking their Huskies, I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do.
Any advice?

Siberian Huskies have an inner coat & an outer coat, it keeps the heat in when its cold & keeps the heat out when its hot, Never shave it, just use a brush or shedding comb to keep him/her groomed.

I personally would go with another breed out there. I live in MI's UP and have a Great Pyrenees who is having a hard time here the past week with the heat. He can be a bit of a pain because he lets me know he'd rather be in the AC riding in the car or upstairs with my AC cranked way up (more than I like or like to pay for) I wouldn't put him in any warmer climate because he'd just as soon dig into a snowbank year round.
I used to live in San Diego, and hope you get to go take your dog to dog beach :) Nothing like it up here that's for sure.
