I would just like to introduce myself to this forum. My name is Tammy Warner. I am a new Silpada Rep and excited to find this forum. Hoping to get some new good ideas for parties and for my new business. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. I've gotten off to a pretty good start so far. My goal is to qualify for the Wakiki trip in January. I have until September to do so.

Yay Tammy! Welcome!
My first year is such a great incentive. Start offering the business opportunity now and don't wait. The more you grow a team, the better.
Would love to answer questions and help with ideas. Ask away!
In the meantime...what's your why?

Thanks, Liz! I have a great sponsor, but sometimes it would be nice to have a variety of ideas. At this point I'm having trouble getting parties. I do have 2 on the calendar (one in March and one in April), and I have 2 in the works. But I really want to have at least 2 a week and that's not been happening. My 100 days are up on April 19, so I need to kick it up a notch. I need to somehow stretch outside of the parties I've been having, and my family and friends. Any ideas? I also wondered if there were any suggestions on setting up a display. I have just been laying the jewelry out on a black velour-type material. I bought a couple of the necks and a couple bracelet holders at walmart, but they're so bulky to carry around. I did buy a silver case, but is there any other things easy to cart these things around in?
I ask everyone as they are checking out to have a party. I then ask them again when I check to make sure they got their jewelry and are happy with it. I got one yes this week, checking on the jewelry, but not a date commitment yet.
And, yes, I have been offering the opportunity. Of course, I personally think, who wouldn't want to offer Silpada's services, but I guess not everyone thinks like me :)
My why: I am a dental hygienist. While I love my job, it is back-breaking work and I would like to cut back to working that job to 1 or 2 days a week. I, like everyone else, need income to pay the bills, however. That is why I decided to sell Silpada Designs, plus I love the jewelry and I love the company, and I love parties and meeting new people. I love helping people. In this job I help women earn free jewelry, and at some time I will help women have an opportunity to have and work their own business.
Thanks! :)

Have you taken the " build your booking confidence" tele-clinic? I highly recommend it!
Other ideas: when you have trouble getting a date, go right to this, "I work X, X, and X. Which of those do you think would appeal most to you and your friends?" (For me it's Thurs, Fri, and Sunday, but you fill in whatever days work for you.)
Then when she tells you, say, "great! I have April 14 and April 7 available. Which of those works best?" If she is being wish-washy, just tell her, "no worries, I just want to pencil you in so I make sure I leave that date available for you. I'll follow up to confirm and make sure there aren't any conflicts you can't think of right now." Once you have a date penciled in, she can't duck you and either will hold it, or will let you know it's not going to work AND she's more likely to pick another date that will work in that case.
For your fast start, think about holding a mystery hostess catalog party. There's a tele-clinic that Kris Puffer did on November 2 (I think) where she explains her Turkey Trot. I did it in November and it was a killer show! Also look for fundraisers - the PCV will help you earn free jewelry, you can donate your commissions and take the hostess free jewelry for yourself too!
I hope that helps. Don't forget to use your sponsor as well. I'm sure she has lots of ideas for you too. And you can always call corporate and get a coach. The sales staff is WONDERFUL!
Good luck with the rest of your fast start!

Hey girl!
Yes, Melisa's shutterly site is an awesome resource. It is password protected so you need to request the password and provide your site link so she knows you are legit.
There are also some great Facebook groups (that's where most of the Silpada reps hang out online).
Would love to hook you up if you're not on them already!
