I work for two companies taking pictures of properties involved in foreclosure. The kinds of photos differ from one another - establishing vacancy, inspecting maintenance and damages, interior photos documenting the pre-sale condition of the home, and interior photos confirming winterizing service providers have done their jobs. Do you know of any similar jobs out there?

I write articles and ad-copy as my main job, and I sell Usborne Books & More on the side, but I find this work very quick and easy and would like to do more of it.

Probably not in your area, but did run across this one earlier:

Photographers Needed (http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/med/2881613064.html)

Do run across real estate photography ones on occasion so there are more out there.

Hey Yack,

Would you mind sharing how you started doing the foreclosure part of real estate? Or what the companies are that you work for?

I am on the east coast in Florida and I shoot quite a bit of real estate but have yet to really shoot any foreclosures. I am always looking to ad some more work.

What kind of equipment do you have an where are you located? I might be able to put you in touch with some people.

Hi, Tommy.

All of the companies I work with are located in Iowa. I got involved by looking through Craigslist wanted ads. I can't remember exactly what they were called - Foreclosure Specialist or something to that effect. Keep your eyes open for anything pertaining to mortgages or foreclosures, then read through the description.

At the moment, I only have a very basic digital camera.

A good place to try is:

FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHY JOBS : FREELANCE PHOTO JOBS : FREELANCE JOBS for FREELANCE PHOTOGRAPHERS (http://www.freelancephotojobs.com/)

Yack - Thanks for the reply wasn't sure if the companies you work with have out of state jobs. I have one company I shoot for out of Chicago, one out of Cali, and the last one out of Denver. I check craigslist daily, most of the foreclosures want to pay like 10 bux per property and have only 1 in that area. That type of pay is not even worth shooting unless it's in the same neighborhood as I live.

Andrew - Thanks for the link. I check that site daily along with the craigslist, Photography on the net forum (classified services wanted), Freelance Photographer Jobs - Home (http://www.freelancephotographerjobs.com/), and some others.

One company I work with pays $20 for rural properties, and I only cover within 30 miles of home. The other only uses me for local jobs at $5-$10 each, but they come in batches of 20. It's been a nice, easy pt income.

Cool. Ya if I could find one that would give a batch of at that many then it could be worth it.

I just ran a search in Craigslist main job board for "photographs" and "photos" and came up with several relevant results for this kind of work. In our area, at least, it seems these are the only people hiring photographers straight out. Good luck!

Photographers now have enough work to do, it’s not necessary to take only certain photos, go to any site hasselblad x1d (https://techly.co/hasselblad-x1d/) where you can sell or make them to order and you can earn more there.
