View Full Version : Avoiding Predators on Ebay

I read once warning not to put pictures of your kids wearing/using things you sell on ebay because predators could buy the product not for the product but to get the address where you were located (the article was about an incident where this actually happened).

I recently learned about a new concern. If you have a Smart Phone (iphone, Android, etc.) and take pictures on it, it's likely that these pictures are stamped with your GPS location...which means that people who know how could find out where you live from the pictures you post on ebay if you took those pictures in your home...unless ebay scrubs this info from the pictures (some photo sharing sites do, like facebook)...not sure if ebay does. Anyone know?

Anyways, it's easy to change your phone setting so they DON'T add this info to your photos...
