Mom's any rules about Halloween costumes? How cute, how scary?

I think will go with cute costume.....my kids are scared of masks so probably not a good idea to make it scary lol

Depends how old the kids are but you can't go wrong with cute! Unless they're 13/14 years old...;)

I prefer cute because when the older kids are wearing the scary, it scares my daughter. I don't think we should make Halloween scary. But that is just me, i'm sure many disagree.

Cute and scary.

Perfect match for a costume. :)

My kids are frightened by the scary costumes. Plus the preschool does not allow scary - so cute it is! :)

When my children were young, I got them mostly cute costumes.

However, one year I made my son's costume, and he won 1st place in the school contest. He was a robot. I covered boxes, milk cartons, etc. with aluminum foil and tied it all together with silver stretchy string (like you use on gifts). I used gray face paint on his face. It was a great costume. I am not a crafty person, so it was quite an accomplishment for me.

I always preferred makeup to masks. I want to see the child, who it is. Make up is such fun too!

Cute or none. I don't like to see ugly scary things.

nothing satanic is my only rule

Well it depends also with the children if they want scary one.

Just let them choose what costume they like. It it's too spooky, then you may try to present them something cute with a little scary look. ;)

We're going with CHEAP! We're using the costumes from last year since they still fit. Much cheaper and much more practical as well. That would be Mario and Bumblebee, for the record. :)

Halloween is over!

Yeah, I've found an interesting costume that I can use for the next time.

I've watch a music video on youtube. There's a K-Pop group in South Korea 2NE1 singing It Hurts. I love the gothic style of their costumes.

You can watch it here...

2NE1 - It Hurts (??) MV [HD] - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aUiMaz4BNKw&ob=av2e)

I don't understand the lyrics but it's really worth watching. I enjoy the dress.
