I just read on bbb.com that this company was out of business.

Would you please post the information you found on the BBB website saying EZmark has gone out of business.

I have checked their site both BBB for MS and BBB.com for the US and have found nothing saying they have gone out of business.

Thanks

I don't think they are out of business. I sent them an email yesterday to ask something, and got an answer this morning.

No I don't think they have gone out of business either.

Their websites are still up and I did not see anything on the BBB website saying they were out of business.

So I got curious as to what this gal saw on the BBB report.
Maybe she just misread something.

I was not aware they had an email address.

Was that for the new Christmas Ornament?

I think they are running that out of Georgia where the owner has moved to. Think it was Georgia. Not MS anyway.

The office for the bookmarks and cards is in Florence MS.

Well nice talking to you.

Have a wonderful New Year. 2010

Industry Tips
Work at Home Promotions
Every day, ads for work-at-home jobs appear in newspapers across the country as well as in national magazines and on the Internet. Some of the offers include stuffing envelopes, assembling products, reading books, reviewing movies, medical billing, or selling advertising on the Internet.

The Better Business Bureau suggests using extreme caution when responding to any such offer. While ads claim high earnings and short hours with little or no experience, Bureau files nationwide indicate no evidence of anyone making the promised money. Rarely, if ever, are these ads an offer of legitimate employment. Generally, these "jobs" require up-front fees for information or supplies, and only the person who ran the ad makes any money.

You should be aware that the United States Postal Inspectors regularly investigate these fraudulent schemes, and that you risk investigation and possible prosecution by postal or other law enforcement agencies if you become involved in one of these
schemes.

Sorry I respond so late, but I was on a cruise last week.
Yes, I asked them for the Christmas ornament. I like to try them, but I'm not sure yet.
They said that the ornaments are pretty easy to make, well, I have to think about it. I hate to pay money again for something what turns out as being too hard to get aproved. That happens too much. You need to buy your own styrofoam balls, because they want to keep the shipping cost low, but they'll refund that. I'll let you know if I decide to order them.

Thanks for posting this information.

You could call their 800 number given on their website to see if the bookmark company is still in business.
I have not made any for a while. I was getting paid for everything I sent in.
It would not surprise me if the bookmarks were no longer in business. At one time last year I was told when talking to them over the phone that they were not getting many sent into them.
But then the last time I talked with them which would have been around three months ago I was told they had picked up in how many they were receiving.
I was planning on making some more and getting paid but just have not gotten around to it after the holidays.
I will check and see if anyone checks this out. If nobody posts I will just give them a call and then I will post what I find out.

Again thanks for posting.

I think making Christmas Ornaments would be fun.

My experience with these craft companies so far would tell me the ornament would not be easy. It is pretty. But I bet hard to get approved and then paid.

Good luck if you decide to try it.

Oh neat Ria,

Let me know if those are tiny beads and how you attach them to the ball.

I bet it would be time consuming just like all the crafting projects.

But this to me looks like something that could be fun. Probably difficult to get all of those beads so that they are straight.

I look forward to hearing what you think of this project.

I tried the Christmas Ornament out, and sended it back today. I found it frustrating. The beads are very small, I think the smallest you can get, but the beading went fine. Then the hard part came, the gluing on the styrofoam ball. To me it's almost impossible to do that without problems. I couln't close the gaps between the rows, and you need to do that, nothing from the ball can be seen. So the beads were in no time covered with glue, and that's not allowed.
However the beading was no problem for me, it took me 4 hours to finish that. So I decided that a half day of work is too much for only about $ 4.00. It's not worth my time, I can do so many other things in this time.
You know, I do a lot of crossstitching and needlework, and sell that on Ebay. However I know that you never get paid for the work you do, I love doing it, and that makes a big difference.

Oh my I had not thought of all those beads being glued onto the ball. Little beads too. Ouch.
Well one thing I knew for sure it would not be easy. But glue and a bunch of little bitty beads. No way.
But ya know something I bet someone somewhere gets the ornament made and gets paid.

I have heard the bows for Cottage are a good craft to do and get paid.

What I have learned with these crafting jobs is if you are good enough to get the craft made so they will pay you it still is a lot of work for little money. So I just think it is better to think of this kind of work as a hobby and that you can make a little money doing it. I still can not believe for the little bit of money you still have to pay taxes when you make over six hundred dollars in one year. So it certainly turned out to be a learning experience for me. I was so excited to get paid for the bookmark but the time it takes to make them and having to work on them every single day finally got old. Boring. To much time for to little money. But it was fun at first. I imagine most doing this crafting quit pretty quick. Some may stay with the job but I bet most quit. Just to much valuable time taken for the money made.

Ria good luck with selling your crafts. When you enjoy doing the craft as a hobby and you do not have to do it each and every day to meet a time set for you certainly makes a difference.

I did the bows for Cottage, I made 3 sets for them, and I'm still working for them. This is a very good company. About the bows, I make about 16 an hour, so that's $4.00 an hour, better as $4.00 for a big half day. It cost practice at first, but it's not very hard to do. I also tried their boxes, but that didn't work for me.
When you finish a set, you get $100.00, so that's not bad at all, however it's a little boring too.
But again, it's a very good company, fast with sending the materials and the paychecks.

I wouldn't waste your money. I tried the bookmarks and the materials they sent were so crappy you couldn't get the knots done correctly. After not being approved 4 times, I just bought my own materials (better quality thread) and finally got approved. And then I tried a kit and had the whole kit returned saying the knots were uneven. But they don't show you which ones are uneven, and its not like you can just pull them all apart again to retry. And I don't plan on buying any other materials from them to be rejected again. This was just a hugh waste of time and money. Stay away if you don't want to feel cheated. This company is one big huge SCAM !!!

I posted on this forum for over a year while making the bookmark and also trying New England Crafters.

I had some women very angry with me for sharing my feelings about New England Crafters and I also was totally honest about EZmark.

I did get paid by EZmark and made eight hundred dollars with them. But I also felt the pain of every woman who tried this company and never made any money,

I feel these craft companies are a scam. The owners are making money from selling kits. Plain and simple.

Some people end up making some money with these companies but many many lose their time and money.

Yes it should make you very angry and I wish more would share their anger. So many just fade away without letting others know what really goes on with these companies.

Thanks for being honest.
