View Full Version : Trying to Decide

I have been selling Princess House for about 1.5 years so far, and I ABSOLUTELY love their products. However, I am thinking about making a switch soon! I am a junior in collegeand selling PH here in PA is not easy to college students, and it is definitely hard to get outside bookings because I am not too familiar with any outside people as well as I am too busy.

My main question, is what should I do? I absolutely love PH but it seems that I put more into it than I have made so far! I was thinking about looking for something more appealing to college aged students...but then that only goes so far. There are a few jewelry consultants on campus and I do not want to step on their toes!

The main problem is that we can't do online ordering...so if a hostess is out of state we can't really do a book party becauseI am unable to give her a link. Plus the products are beatiful and reliable but for college aged students they are expensive. I have a lot for my future house....I am getting married in 2010! Basically, I am looking for something with growth potential, good pay, ease of job, something that will benefit college students as well as travel back home in MD?

Any suggestions would be absolutely amazing! thanks so much!

Hi Olivia

Home and Garden Party has a variety of products from stoneware, art work, candles, dry food mixes, florals and other accessories. Our pricing includes shipping and many of our products are priced under $25. We have online ordering for the consultant as well as you can set up a weblink that family or friends can use to shop online and you will get the commission credit.

Our success kits are on sale for $49.50 or $74.50 in September. If you would like more information, please feel free to contact me.

Good luck with your decision.

Lynn is right. I have worked several direct sales companies and HGP is one of the best. I recently had signed on with Signature Home Styles, and although their products are gorgeous they are very expensive and nobody has ever heard of this company here in my area. Also their commission is pretty low.
I always worked sales companies that were well known and had high commissions. HGP is one of them. I love their products and many of my customers comment on the quality and that their prices are reasonable.
I used to be with Home interiors but they now charge shipping and have eliminated most of their candles. I enjoyed and was VERY successful with them, but again, my customers can AFFORD HGP. I highly recommend it. I am not currently an active rep, although I plan to start selling again b/c of the Holiday season coming up. I currently do Tupperware and though their commissions are low, their reputation is VERY good and they are well known.
I have seen princess house, and although their merchandise is lovely, it is expensive. Just my opinion. Good luck in whatever you choose but I would look at HGP and their 30-40% commission, no shipping fees, variety of affordable products, etc.

Thank you all so much for your input! I am feeling things out now, I am hosting a HGP in October...I like to host other parties, get free stuff :) I have always liked HGP and my mom even suggested a switch. I just want a company that customers can afford for the product quality. A lot of my family nearby love HGP! Any more ideas would help too :)

You may also want to check out For Every Home. Our mail line is Soy candles and wickless odor eliminators howeve we offer Vinyl Lettering and Home Decor items as well. Our price point for our products is anywhere from $3.50 to $18 so it is very affordable for college students. Also we are a ground floor opportunity so there is a great chance there will be no other consultants in your school or maybe even your state.

But most of all, you need to do something that you will use and you believe in. Good luck!

Have you considered Watkins? I think the older students would be interested in the Gourmet Foods and would definitely enjoy hosting Good Tastings Parties, as well as the Personal Care creams etc. they might even like the Home Care Products smileys/smiley2.gif Watkins also has online ordering so all they would need is your associate number and they could order online, and it's only $39.95 to join!
