View Full Version : Energy drink without caffeine?

First let me preface this by saying ya'll know how much I hate band aid fixes right? I'm vehemently opposed to them!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifI believe that most if not all people barring a few unique circumstances can meet all their energy needs with clean eating and exercise....

However, I now find myself in the"unique circumstances group. I'm just sooooo wiped out lately!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifI really could use some artificial energy to make it through the day. I know, I know, I'm 31 weeks pregnant (only 9 weeks and 5 days to go before my c-section, though I have a sneaking feeling my water will break early AGAIN just like with the last twohttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif) and fatigue is to be expected, but man, all I want to do is sleep all day and that's not going to workhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

I literally JUST got up about 40 minutes ago!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gifI make sure to get enough sleep at night and a nap during the day (usually it's not by choice lol, if I wasn't pregnant you'd think I was narcoleptichttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) but I' still wiped out! I feel so lazy. The laundry is piling up, the dishes are starting to pile up again, I haven't vacuumed in over a week, and I missed 2 days of exercise already! I'm down to just taking a 30 minute walk a day, but even that's becoming taxing and not as energizing at all like it used to behttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif

The round ligament pain is insanehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gifand the only thing that will help at this point is childbirth (my maternity belt is not doing the jab anymore) On top of that I still have my work at home job which I have been able to still do well at ( just got promoted and a raisehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif) but I have been slacking with my business. I have leads piling up. Part of my goal was to get my income partially replaced by the time Caleb is born, but that's becoming less possible with me not mustering up the energy I really need to work it. I've already cut back to an hour a day, but by the time that hour arrives I'm so pooped and fall asleep and yes, even drool on my lead listhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gifhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Anywho I did all the whining to say, I really need some artificial energy like right now!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifI've excepted that at this point I can no longer do EVERYTHING, but dang it I need to at LEAST do something!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Have you asked your doc about b-12 shots? Those give natural energy.

I was going to say a B supplement. I don't do the shots, but with the B complex I take it, it has me zooming around the house, almost like being on caffeine http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Are you still drinking your FV?

I still drink the FV and it does help, but I would need to drink ALOT and since there's the caffiene/mateine in it, I don't want to drink too much (equivelent to 33mg of caffiene per ounce) so I only drink a couple ounces a day. I need a kick! Gonna get me some b-vits though! Thanks ladies!

Let us know how they work. The reason I said shots was because the effect & purity is better & stronger since it hits your blood system faster. I suggest that you talk to your doc & ask them.

You know what I was just thinking about, K....I know in the last trimester sometimes you can get really tired, but what I am wondering if you've developed anemia? When you had blood work the last time, I'm sure that checked for that, buthow long ago was it? I've suffered with anemia forever and so I had to deal with that during both pregnancies, but I don't think it's uncommon for pregnant women to develop it (even tho' they've never been before), especially in the last trimester.

Just a thought.

Check with the doc. Take your diet for the last week along. Ask to talk to a nutritionist. Are you getting enough protein with every meal/snack? If you get b's, make sure you get a B-COMPLEX with BIOTIN. Many vitamins skimp on biotin because it's expensive.
