Ok, Edjumacated ladies, I need your assitance Por Favor.

I've gained 40 lbs alreadyhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gifand still have 15 weeks to gohttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gifand the 3rd Trimest is when the REAL weight gain beginshttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif. I really do not want to go over 200lbs, so I know I've got to get this eating thing under control.

I've tried the babyfit menus and they either leave me starvinghttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifor gassyhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gifSo basically, I need help coming up with a meal plan that will be between 2,000 and 2,300 calories that will leave most normal people literally stuffed lol.

My appetite is insane! It's like someone went in there and turned off the little switch in my brain that says "I'm full now!"http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

So here's what I've come up with so far: I know I need to be eating 3-5 times a day to keep my blood sugar under control. I know I need to stay away from processed foods and calorie laden drinks (except my OJ with calcium - my body craves it and I get shaky without ithttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif). I know how to eat clean, I just don't know how to STOP eating. I'm never full and know this weight gain is not good for me.

Soooo with that, any suggestions on so low calorie super filling foods I can start loading up on?

Oh yeah, I only eat meat 1 time, maybe 2 times a day max. It jacks with my stomach. Any non meat protein sources that won't have me dead broke or farting a hole through my office chair?http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Oh yeah againhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifAnyone know of any good pregnancy workouts? I've had to stop TJ and HHA due to major cramping due to my abdominal split and round lidament pain, and am frightened to start walking as I'm not sure if I'd actually make it BACK from where ever I was walking lol.

TIA!

K,
As far as stopping eating when you're not hungry any longer, you're going to have to have some willpower, so dig deep, girl!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif I just think there's a reason that you're not doing what you KNOW you should be doing. KWIM? You gotta find that reason.

I so know what you're going through. I was the same way, but my feelings were - I'm eating for two, this is the only time I'm going to get to be a pig and not care, so I'm going for it! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif I don't suggest doing that, btw...lol.

Non-meat protein sources:
Tofu
Whole grains
Beans (and altho they might give you gas, they have a lot of fiber so you should be okay...lol)
Yogurt
Milk
Eggs
Peanut Butter
Nuts

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Have you thought aboutreplacing whatever snacks you're eating with fruits and veggie snacks? Like cut up some fruit and vegetables (that you like) and have them waiting in the fridge so you can grab them in a hurry? Maybe have some type of homemade dip as well?

The answer to the question in your paragraph one is paragraph two!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifHonestly, I got frustrated with the fact that I was STILL gaining weight exercising 6 times a week, eating 5 super clean meals a day and drinking nothing but water, that I said fuggedaboudit!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifThe jacked up part is it hasn't even been consistent bad eating at allhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley7.gif

Rhondap suggested I add in an acai crunch bar or two and see if that helps, so I'm gonna have some of those. Dude I gotta get rich so I can do like Halle Berry and Jessican Albaand have a personal chef feed me at my beck and callhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

One of my favorite snacks when I was preg was grapes & walnuts or almonds. I was doing massage full-time then and would get really shaky & fatigued if I didn't snack every couple hrs. This seemed to have a good combo of protein, carbs & fat to hold me over. I diduse protein bars a lot, too.

Well, I do think it will help if you're "grazing" all day long. That should keep actual physical hunger at bay. Now you just gotta work on your mind! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Also, have you looked into any sort of "light" foods to replace what you're eating. Like, I know you LOVE ice cream, so have you tried any of the light ice creams or maybe frozen yogurt? I know it's not exactly the same, but it might help.

Actually.....and this will shock you...I lost my craving for Ice Cream about 2 months agohttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley3.gif

Other Jen, I'm going to try that. I do remember Walnuts being high in protein and good fats (no do not induce fits of fartinghttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley22.gif)

And YES FARTING is a medical term! My OB used itsmileys/smiley36.gif. I asked her if there was anything I could take for gas....http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gifand she was like "You mean like cramping and bloating, or just farting alot?" I was speechless for a few seconds....never heard a doctor say "farting" beforesmileys/smiley36.gif

I said "Yes....um...that.."

She said, "Well having the baby helps lol. You can try beano but really pregnant women just seem to fart a lot. Chalk it up to one of those unfortunate side effects of pregnancy"smileys/smiley36.gif

Wow...I am trying to think back...I blocked a lot of that out of my mind. I had such a hard time with this last pregnancy.

I was hungry all the time (once my morning sickness was gone), but when I tried to eat, I couldn't eat that much. I stuck to fruit, nuts, yogurt and soup. When I tried to eat heavy things, I regretted it later.

I had lots of heartburn and gas. A plus to eating beans is the fiber. Yes, it causes gas, but helps with constipation. You pick your poison! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

I know exactly how you feel...not wanting to gain any more weight. But, remember - this isn't the time to diet. If your body is putting on the pounds despite clean eating - there is not much you can do about it. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Maybe try to add a Blended Smoothie each day. Put some Greens in with some fruit. Like Kale, Chard, Romaine, etc. The Greens help me stop being hungry because of all the nutrients they contain. It is what my body is searching for!

Hey ladies, it's official....I'm banned from carbs!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gifI posted the whole story here: http://www.wahm.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=534303

So looks like eating every hour, nuts, fruit, veggies, cheese, and or meat. This is gonna make me crazy lol but it's what's best for the baby! Off to eat some lettucehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley21.gifEdited by: FV Mom

Okay, don't be bummed about lettuce! You just have to mix it up with the right thing! My favorite is swiss chard with 2 or 3 oranges. I run it all through the blender and then strain it to get just the juice. My kids always come running in the kitchen when I make this asking what smells so good! I can't imagine being restricted when pregnant though. That would be tough! Hang in there!

Girl I wish!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifI'm 5'8 but 202lbs at only 25 weeks is definately too overweight. You made me feel good for a sec though (encouragement is obviously one of your giftingshttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)

Well I was really happy to hop on the scale today and see I'm actually down 3.5lbs (yay ONEderlandhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif) so my doc was right about my insulin resistance. My carbs still make up 50% of my daily calories, it's just the TYPE of carbs that's different. So my weight should continue to drop a little each week until it stabalizes to where it['s supposed to be and no overweight baby, preterm labor, gestational diabetes for me!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley10.gifhttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif
