I have a super sweet tooth lol so I love fruit! Well I've already read the Jay Robb Fruit Flush. Well now he's come out with a 14 day diet. It looks good already lol. I like his protein too because it's very inexpensive and doesn't contain a bunch of artifical ingredients or fillers. Check it out: www.jayrobb.com (http://www.jayrobb.com)

So any way, I will review the 14 day diet and post here. Has anyone else ever read any of his materials or used his products?

I've used his protein, before I started w/ my company and liked it. I never read any of his work. I tried one of the protein bars and hated it. :)

The fruit flush is basically a 3 day cleanse where you cleanse your body with fruit. Watermelon, peaches, apples, bananas, plums, grapes...ALL YOU CAN EAT!smileys/smiley36.gif I plan to do this one soon as well as the 14 day diet. I just finished reading the book and all I can say is he is way too generous to only charge 5 bucks for this ebook! My mouth was watering the entire time reading the book (well except when he was talking about BO and BM'ssmileys/smiley36.gif) and it looks so easy to do. I mean eating fruit all day as much as you want...who wouldn't love that lol.

On a Spiritual note, this book really spoke to me spiritually even though he never said anything remotely religious throughout the book. It spoke to me because IMO this is how our creator designed us. We were designed to eat every fruit, and herb and seed (Genesis 1:29). Also it's interesting but if you look throughout the Bible, the only meat man ate was fish and eggs. They were permitted to eat beef and chicken however in those days that didn't make sense because you'd literally be eating your money. A chicken can produce way more chickens and eggs than it can a meal. The bartered and sold eggs in the market place. Also a cow or Ox was used to plow their fields so if they ate it, they'd be eating their money. The only exceptions were the quail in the desert (which Ironically killed a large portion of the camp) and the meat used for sacrifices. In the New Testament you only see Jesus refering to fish and eggs as a food item. Interesting to say the least.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

I am doing the fruit flush too! Thanks to FVM of course!!

I am looking forward to getting the protein in the mail (UPS Ground - how long does that take? A week or so I would think) so that I can start!! i like the serving sizes too.I would have thought a serving would be smaller than what he suggets.

I will definitely post my results as well.

We will be good support systems for each other!!

FVMom, I totally agree on the religious thing. We only ate fruit to begin with... after Adam and Eve sinned and were cast out of Eden, part of their punishment was to "toil the land" ie: gardening. We didn't start eating meat until after the flood. After Noah and his family came off the ark, God started permitting eating meats. So, I agree... fruits were God's original plan for us, so you can't go wrong with them. :) Let us know how it goes! I'm very interested. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif(On a side note-have you looked into the maker's diet? It follows those principles as well. I've been interested in it forever, but haven't done much research. lol)

FVMom,
funny you mention biblical ref. and fruit. Last summer we were picking wild blackberries to make jam and the kids were complaining b/c they were hungry. I told them to eat the berries, they would make a great snack. They thought they'd be gross, I told them God knows what's good for you, you don't see doughnuts growing on trees do ya? http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif
They thought that was funny, tried the berries and loved them.

BTW, I'm going to do the fruit flush soon :)

Baasically the way the plan works (I don't want to give away too much as the ebook is only 5 bucks) is for the 14 day plan you eat as much fruit as you want. He has guidelines on the types of fruit to eat, but anything counts: Cherries, bananas, watermelon, cantalope, honeydew, peaches, pears, apples, etc. Don't forget that many things we consider veggies are actually fruit: cucumbers, peppers, squash, tomatoes, coconut (in moderation) etc. You eat 3 fruit meals a day or more if desired. Then at night you have a giant veggie salad, with homemade dressing (no store bought stuff because of all the stuff in them) with loads of veggies, you can add nuts, another serving of fruit, and a serving of protein (3-5 ounces). Also if you're still hungry you can have a shake he gives the recipe for that includes protein. The shakes are optional. I don't do too well with meat (outside of this organic canned chicken I buy and egg whites) so I supplement with protein shakes a lot. Sha***e's shake would work too. You do this for 14 days, then you can continue on with it if you desire or modify it, quit it etc lol.

The 3 day fruit flush works very similar. With the fruit flush you have a pre cleanse day where you drink a 6oz serving of a protein shake every 2 hours (for 5 total) and the HUGE veggie salad with protein (chicken, fish, turkey or egg whites) Then on the cleanse days you have a serving of fruit every 2 hours (5 total) and then the veggie salad (no meat this time) and a protein drink.

There's more details about it as well aswhy it works so well in the book so you have to buy it to learn morehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif. I can't wait to do this as I lub lub lub fruit!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Hi Vilma!

Okay, you want to replace carbohydrates with just fruits.Fruits are carbohydrates with fiber. What you are getting instead of sucrose is fructose. Both are carbohydrates that contain 4 calories per gram.If you are replacing carbohydrates of the white sugar, white flour variety, this is good. The less refined white products you have in your diet the better.I like the idea of fruits and vegetables in a person's diet.Your workouts will not suffer, but may actually improve. The main factor is to stay within you calorie requirements for the day and the particular percentage of carbohydrates to protein to fat ratio.

Try to use as many "organic" fruits and vegetables as possible and do not neglect the protein.

I read the fruit diet and I think you should go for it.There is nothing in
there that is going to harm you and many people are indeed allergic to
grains.I do the fresh fruit smoothie in the morning and I know it has made me feel better (even though I throw in some raw oatmeal to clean out the arteries).</BLOCKQUOTE>

Okay, that watermelon looks really, really good - nice and fresh and juicy! Ours around here doesn't look that appetizing yet http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif Watermelon is my favorite!!!

The only thing I worry about with me is that I just did the Candida cleanse in March and I know certain fruits will cause candida to go crazy, so that would kind of defeat the purpose of me doing the Candida cleanse to begin with. BUT....I do think adding more fruit and veggies to my day won't hurt. I'm not sure I'm getting enough right now, so I'll have to check into it.

Hey Vilma, I'm reading the glycemic index book and they talk about fruit and veggies a lot. They say half your meals should be fruits and veggies and none of the fruits are high glycemic or have a high Glycemic load, so what Jay says in the book is correct. You body needs sugar, it's all about getting the right kind. Fruit sugar doesn't spike the blood sugar or make you "high" like other carbs do so it's very good. Look at Jack Lalaine! I saw that. The particular cleanse that I followed said to avoid, so I did while on that cleanse. Actually, I was looking online and the candida cleanses I have found have said to avoid citrus. "Experts" on one side saying to eat citrus, "expets" on the other saying not to eat citrus http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley29.gif

IMO, for optimum results, I think it's best to follow the particular instructions for whatever cleanse you're doing since they're all different.

I like to see how my weight fluctuates throughout the day. Weird stuff!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

In all honesty, Idon't want to lose more than2 lbs on this because that is not the reason i'm doing it... I just want to reset my system and flush out all the yucky stuff I have. This morning I weighed myself and i'm down 1.5 pounds.. I did drink a 16 oz. water &amp; hadn't gone to the bathroom so that might be about 2 lbs. lower. I haven't measured myself yet (will do that tomorrow).

This is definately not a plan that you can maintain... It is just that... a detox.

After this is done today i'm planning to encorporate some of the Fruit Diet principles to my diet (ex. more fruit!) for 14 days and see how that goes. I don't think I can go 14 days on just fruit, so Istill be eating my staples (lean protein, healthyfats, &amp; some grains). I have foundout that Idefenitely have a gluten, grain sensitivity so I will be replacing *most* of those with fruit.

Yups... I know smileys/smiley2.gif

But, I really do need my protein at everymeal. I don't want to lose the muscle that I already have... That's really the only modification that i'm gonna do. I'm gonna replace my cereals, grains &amp; brown rice with fruit, yams &amp; potatos. Gonna eat more fibrous veggies at night too. I guess mine would qualifty as a modified Fruit plan...

More like the modified BFFM, Fruit &amp; Vilma plan. smileys/smiley36.gif

The BFFM program doesn't recommend much fruit because Tom says it slows down fat loss. smileys/smiley5.gif That's why i'm gonna be a guinea pig and try replacing my complex &amp; starchy carbs w/ fruit for 14 days (Jay Robb's fruit plan) to see how my body changes/reacts.

Final Review of Jay Robb's 3 Day FRUIT FLUSH has been posted for those that are interested.

Please remember that this was my personal experience and you may have similar or different experiences/results than mine when/if you decide to do this.

I lost 2.5 pounds &amp; 6.75 inches (more stats on my blog)

Also I used my own protein that I had on hand at the time. Next time I do this (if I do... smileys/smiley5.gif), I will buy Jay's protein &amp; see if I see any difference.

Ok... Here it is:
