View Full Version : I am starting my diet on Monday!!

05-19-2007, 10:02 AM
My DH has been on this diet since December, and he has lost 40 pounds, his brother lost 100 and his sister came over on Mothers Day and she looks great!! She lost 15 pounds her first week

After three kids, my body isn't the way it used to be. I only have 25 - 30 pounds to go, but if I don't start this diet soon, I am going to be the fat one of the family!! With summer coming I need to do something.

I will let you know how I do, but as for today and tomorrow, I am going to eat what ever I wanthttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif.

What diet are you starting?

I am not sure if it has a "name", but you go to a real doctor and he puts you on a diet plan. I knowI have to get blood work done on Monday, and I will have to fast for I think it is two days http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif

Then I know you have to cut out oils and breads. I will let everyone know more after I go on Monday. I think it is more of a new way of life rather than a true diet.

I know my DH eats a bowl on cereal for breakfast in the morning, a salad with either grilled chicken or plain tuna with balsamic vinegar as the dressing.

For dinner, I have been making him chicken or pork, but I use PAM to cook it in a pan. And he eats veggies with only salt and pepper.

When he first started the diet, I initially lost 5 pounds, just by eating the dinners with him, but then I started eating what the kids ate, and I gained it all back, plus I have been pigging out on Pizza Flavored Goldfish (I can eat the whole bag in one sitting!!)

I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really need to do something, I tried on my shorts from last year, and I couldn't get them over my thighs!!

You can do it! Remember, there are two ways to decrease calories: (1) through diet (2) through exercise. One thing that has really helped me keep track of my diet is www.fitday.com (http://www.fitday.com)
My recommendation for staying motivated to workout is www.wowy.com (http://www.wowy.com) ... what beats the opportunity to win money and prizes just by working out? http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

Hi Danielle,
Glad to have you here!

I'm gladyou mentioned itwill be a lifestyle change and notone of thosefad 'diets'. Sounds like your hubby has made some very positive changes and I'm sure once you get started and commit to the change, you'll do just as good. I'm rootin' for ya!

Hey,why not start today? I bet you could make some positive changes today and tomorrow to get you in the right mindset for this new journey you're about to take. A few extra glasses of water? A walk around the block?

Go for it!

It's Day 5 and I am feeling great!! I survived the two day fast, and now I am full of energy. Usually when I get home from work I am so physically and mentally exhausted, that allI want to do is sit on the couch. Last night I was up to 2 in the morning cleaning and working out while I was watching my DVR'd shows.
I am down 5 pounds so far!!

Here is what I am eating:

Bowl of Special K with red berries and coffee with sweet n' low

Lean Cuisine (without anyrice/potatoes/pasta in the photo) Sugar Free Jello

Either Chicken, Turkey, or Seafood (as much as you want as long as it is prepared correctly)
One of the appoved veggies with salt & pepper (as much as you want)
Salad (dressing must be fat free and 25 cal per serving)
Sugar free jello

The pills do make my mouth dry, which is good since it makes me drink all day.

About the salad dressing... have you tried the Salad Spritzers? They're only 1 cal per spray and I usually spray the entire salad about 6 times, stir it up, and spray a couple more times and stir again. They're very very tasty. My problem with salad is it never looks like enough dressing when I'm adding it, and I end up putting too much and drenching it. The spray keeps me from doing that. HTH!

Thanks, I haven't tried them yet, I will see what flavors they have.

Is this diet something that is offered only where you live, or is there other doctors nationwide that offer something like this? It seems like a very good plan. I'm curious as to how I could get more info about it. Thanks
