Hey all... I'm trying to decide between slim in 6 and turbo jam. I LOVE LOVE LOVED tae bo when it first came out, but I'm looking for something new. I like the 6-week program that Si6 offers, but TJ looks like it might be more fast paced and "fun" which is what I'm looking for. Any comments are greatly appreciated. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gifTIA!

That's a tough one. I think if your goal is to get results, then either one of them is ideal.

Turbo Jam also comes with a plan (they call it a rotation) and there are other rotations on the beachbody.com messageboards. Here (http://forums.milliondollarbody.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/793100125/m/866105636) is one.

I'd say go with Turbo Jam. Slim in 6 works best IMO for someone coming straight off the couch. It provides aenoough shock to the body to cause weight loss. But since you're an experienced exercisier, it would probably provide minimal results. It's a hard program and ca possibly cause burn out if you're not seeing results. I lost 18 pounds and 3 inches from my waist the first time I did Slim in 6, but after doing Turbo Jam for several months, 2 years later I only lost 5 pounds and five inches in 6 weeks and gained jacked up knees and lots of frustration. I still use Slim and Limber though. Slim and Six Pack did nothing for my abs this go around.

I agree with Melle - either one would be great, especially if you're watching what you're eating (the best thing would be following the plans that are included in the packages).

I have both the TJ package and SI6. If I were forced to choose, I would choose SI6 (altho' I do want to try the TJ Ball Workout).SI6 gave me great resultsand I wasn't a couch potato in the least before I started http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif

And don't forget that there is Debbie's Slim Series. It's a package and you rotate the workouts. I think when I bought the package, there were 6workoutvideos(one was a stretching workout) and then there is another one called Keep It Up that isn't included in the Slim Series pack.

Good luck deciding! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Thanks for all the responses!!! I'm gonna go with TJ. I loved TaeBo a lot, but I'm just looking for something a little different this time (been a while lol!) Something new and fresh, but still fun. Since TJ looks like TaeBo with a dancing mixed in, I really think I'd enjoy it. I just won a bid on ebay for TJ! YAY!!! lol. I know that it doesn't matter really what I do as long as I eat right and get exercise in each day it will help... but, the more I enjoy it, the more motivated I'll be to keep it up. So, it's TJ for me... maybe I'll try something else out later. Wish me luck!

PS Thanks for the rotation link, that's great!

I would say go with Slim Series especially since you are an experienced excersiser already. When I was doing Slim Series which I need to get back on it, I got down to the lightest I have ever been and felt great. I like it because it's not all bouncy. They are both great but Turbo Jam is really hyper and bounce around a lot. If you are heavier on top that is kind of uncomfortable. I didn't mind doing the 20 minute workout or the Slow Turbo Jam but the cardio workout was just to peppy for me. Good luck on choosing.

Girl, don't make us dig up that sports bra thread. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gifI just have to ask ... how do you get your heart rate up without doing a peppy workout?

I really do get my heart rate up on Slim series. I have a weird heart though, if anyone can explain it I am all ears. I have a hard time keeping my low, if that's not strange. So I'm probably not the best person to ask. Sitting around and walking, I am just fine but as soon as I get my heart pumping, jogging, biking, I am usually 175-195. As far as Slim series, I'm usually in my target 130.. sometimes I got up to 150-160.

I know Caitalexmommy probably made her decision but Slim Series also comes with a booklet and has a bunch of programs using all 6 tapes. It has a plan for if you want to work more on your bottom half or tone, or lose those extra pounds.
I haven't been a part of WAHM all that long.. maybe I'll have to check out this sports bra thread you're talking about.

It's gonna be a long, hard road to reach my goal weight. I'm sure in time I'll get sick of TJ and try something new and it will probably be Si6. I'm just excited to get started, no matter what it is. It feels so good at the end of the day to know that you've worked out, eaten right and really tried your best. I don't really care about my weight as far as a number goes, I'm just worried about my health. I have heart disease, cancer, and diabetes coming at me from every possible angle and I don't want my kids to have to go through that. My entire family, for the most part, is overweight and I've decided I'm gonna break the cycle lol.
