This has been a ... well, I would say a difficult week, but in reality I think I had as many ups as downs. I feel like I suddenly joined a reality show and my life has become full of the drama that I usually just hear about from my friends. In fact, I don't usually have much to talk about on posts as my life is usually on a pretty even keel (oooo, some Navy jargon I just slipped in there http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif).

Let's see ... Since last Saturday, we have had someone come in and look at our basement. I was expecting very bad news, but he said the cracks in the floor are in reality just cosmetic. Nothing is sitting on the cracks themselves, so they just look ugly. However, we do have drainage issues (hence the flood that the insurance adjuster was pretty quick to tell me was not covered http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gif). So, since we're intending to rent our house to ride out the bad market, he recommended we just fix our landscaping, put some sealant in the cracks, and just plan on fixing the floors at a later date when we go to sell it (when we canplan ahead financiallyfor the expense rather than feeling blindsided like we do right now). I was so happy I actually shook the man's hand.

More good news ... Our refinance was approved and will be funded on Tuesday in time to get new carpet installed before everyone shows up on Thursday. Now all I have to do is clear out my house in the next two days, since the carpet installers will not move anything with something on it or in it. Yeah....http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley5.gifNo sweat! So, all the closet cleaning I assumed I could do after DH's commissioning ceremony but before the move will happen in the next two days. Everything will go in the garage. And Wednesday we will just reposition all the belongings we have time to on our new carpet sans clutter. Not necessarily a bad thing, all in all. Not the timeline I anticipated, but I'm nothing if not adaptable.

However, I've stalled on my weightloss. I reported last Saturday that I had lost 6 pounds. On Sunday I regained three overnight. Not sure what happened, but I did end up loosing that three pounds again during the week. As a result, I'm still holding steady at a 6 pound loss. I was feeling pretty discouraged ... Well, not exactly discouraged. I mean 6 pounds in two weeks is pretty good, especially considering the weeks I have had. But we have a weekly conference call on Fridays to support those of us in this testimonial group, check on our progress, give us tips and such. I guess I was just hoping (dreaming more likely) of amazing, dramatic results. I know it wouldn't be healthy, but I had hoped... Anyways, I anticipated being behind the curve compared to others in the group. But it wasn't the case. Everyone seems to be in the same range with the guys loosing more than the ladies (for which we hate them, but understand that is just the way we're built http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif).So, I felt better after the call.

But this will be my version of he!! week. DH is taking his second final as we speak (or type). He has one more on Tuesday morning and a project paper he needs to complete by then as well. He also has rehearsals tomorrow and Wednesday. In the meantime, I have to clear the house, watch them install the carpet (should be the easiest thing I do! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley32.gif), reassemble the house, create menus, grocery shop, set up the deck and yard, pick up everyone at the airport,and.... whatever else comes up. I think comparatively speaking, moving will be a breeze! I think if I can just not gain weight this week, I'll be happy.

Although, you know I will be aiming for another three pounds. That would be excellent progress, I think. I'm putting it in writing right here that that is my goal. I'm nervous, but I have always heard that putting it in writing helps a lot.

Next week, I'll be writing to you as a newly minted Officer's wife!! What a trip that'll be.

Deanna

Deanna,
Don't feel bad about the weight loss. One summer my dh and I ate the same things, did the same amount of exercise and he lost weight WAY faster than I did! It's just not fair. And I know what you mean about stepping on the scale from one day to the next and having gained 3-4 pounds. What's up with that???

Keep the faith girl! You can do it!
