Google just purchased Grand Central. The plans now are for the basic service including incoming calls to remain free after beta.

I went to Grand and they said sorry not in my area yet. I tried the whole coast of Ca and nothing. I hope soon it will be an option.

Grand Central is free for incoming calls and I think it is 2.5 cents/min for outgoing. I just use it for incoming, If they leave a message I just call back on my home phone.
