I use keywords in all my articles but never do the over stuffing method which will get you penalized by Google.

I do still use keywords but not targeted keywords. Abuse of targeted keywords might get your website into trouble. Google will definitely penalize your website for having lots of targeted keywords. It is best if your use generic keywords like "click here", "read more", etc as these are safe to use.

Using keywords naturally is of course the best thing... Helping the search engines on the way by using a keyword in the title and first sentence has proven to work well for me and my content.

I've always done keyword research, not so much to put as much keywords as possible in my content, but more for content ideas. The keyword will usually be added in the article anyway if that is what you're writing about and as long as it sounds natural I don't really count how many times I use it. Sometimes I don't even have it in my title, however, I will use it in my permalink usually.

I definitely use keywords in every article I write.
If my article is 400 - 500 words, I only use my
targeted keyword about 5 times. Any more than
this will affect the flow of the article and not
sound genuine. Using this keyword strategy
always cause my articles to pass ezinearticles
review. Once they have been accepted, then
I post it on a couple other article directories.

Does this still work for you?

Duplicate content is not recommended and Google will not index it. Are you doing it because of the traffic from these directories themselves and not to rank in the search engines or why would you publish your article more than once?

Just curious,

Yeah, it hasn't been a problem. Sometimes, google will pick
up my article from one of the other directories a lot faster than
from ezinearticles. I want it on EA because that's where the
majority of people go when they are looking for content, and
a few of them have redistributed my content. I do change the
title on each directory, but the body remains the same.

I have a question regarding promoting articles. I want to increase the number of visits to my articles. Should I use a large number of tags? what do you recommend?
