Signature Homestyles is a direct sales company offering decorating and organizing essentials. The company was founded 39 years ago by Madolyn Johnson, a school teacher who wanted to stay home with her children. Since then, the company has grown to include 10,000 Signature HomeStyles Representatives. The company's mission statement is: "We make a difference...one home at a time. We enhance homes through our organization and décor products. We enhance lives through our career opportunities." As a Signature HomeStyles Representative, you would be responsible for selling the company's products, ranging from baskets to linens and trays.
Starting Out as a Signature HomeStyles Representative
To get started as a Signature HomeStyles Representative, you need to fill out an application on the company's website. You don't have to know another consultant to get started. You'll need to purchase the Show Case, which costs $199 plus $25 shipping and handling. This contains samples and supplies you'll need to get started. The company offers two payment options: you can pay $25 up front and the remainder of your Show Case price will be deducted from future commissions; or, you can pay the entire amount and get $25 off for paying the entire balance at one time. The company will provide you with a training DVD, and you will be invited to local, regional and corporate meetings.
Compensation as a Signature HomeStyles Representative
The company offers a base commission of 25% on every sale. You can earn up to a 5% bonus on your monthly sales. You are paid weekly via direct deposit. The company pays your hostess' rewards, and you will receive a commission on guest orders. The more people you recruit to the company, the higher you rise within its structure, opening up the possibility of earning overrides on your recruits' sales. The company is very candid about its compensation and organizational structure. In addition, the company offers a reward program that includes fine jewelry, luxury vacations and products for your home.
Thriving as an Signature HomeStyles Representative
To thrive as a Signature HomeStyles Representative, you will need to market your wares either to other individuals or by having parties. If you are unsure of how to start earning money, your Team Leader will assist you with setting up your first parties. After that, you can grow your business by recruiting other Signature HomeStyles reps and moving up within the company.

To enjoy life as a Signature HomeStyles Representative, you need to be passionate about decorating and entertaining. Your mission will be to improve and enhance the appearance of every home you step into. In addition, you need to be comfortable with making sales, either on an individual basis or during parties. You'll also need to be comfortable with recruiting others to the company, if you wish to take your career to the next level. Finally, you need to be able to afford the Show Case, although the company's payment options should make that easier on your budget.
The company's charitable initiative is Homes for Our Troops, a non-profit organization that builds and remodels homes for severely wounded veterans.
