Naan

Naan is a leavened, oven-baked flat-bread. It is one of the most popular varieties of South Asian breads and is particularly popular in Afghanistan, Iran, India, Pakistan, and the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China, where it is considered the staple food. Serve Naan with Indian food to soak up curries and sauces.
Ingredients:

2 cups all purpose flour
1½ teaspoons instant dry yeast
¼ teaspoon salt
4 cups water
ounce butter

Procedure:

Step 1 Combine ingredients to form a dough and allow to rise until doubled in bulk, about 1 hour.

Step 2 Punch dough down and divide it into 10 parts. Roll each into a thin circle. Brush one side with water.

Step 3 Spray griddle with olive oil spray.

Step 4 Put circles on hot griddle, watered side up.

Step 5 Bake until half done-lightly browned, about three minutes.

Step 6 Transfer to a cookie sheet.

Step 7 Bake in 400 degree oven until done (about 5 to 10 minutes) or use broiler for about 1 minute to finish cooking.
