Kele & Co: A WAHM Business Guide

Kele & Co. is a direct sales jewelry company specializing in .925 sterling silver pieces with semi-precious stones and gemstones. Founded in 2006, Kele & Co. is a privately-owned company based in Plainfield, Illinois. The company was founded by Kelly LeFevre, her sister Adrienne LeFevre, and her mother, Leta Rae LeFevre. Their mission is to help women achieve their financial goals.

After taking a year off to research the direct sales industry, the women came up with a business that, they feel, offers key advantages over the other direct sales companies in the marketplace. To that end, Kele & Co. is defined by 7 guiding principles: affordability, quality, top income, minimal business expenses, generous hostess rewards programs, charitable initiatives and low start-up costs. As a Kele & Co. representative, your job is to sell the company's jewelry either through individual sales or through parties.

Starting Out as a Kele & Co. Consultant

To get started as a Kele & Co. consultant, no previous sales experience is required. You must purchase one of three different start-up kits: The Basics ($99), which offers basic training, catalogs, and web hosting for your business, and comes with a 30% discount on jewlery; The Essentials ($199), which contains everything in the Basics Kit plus more catalogs and additional jewelry discounts; and the Entrepreneur ($499), which includes everything in the Essentials Kit plus more catalogs and display kits, as well as $500 in jewelry plus extended jewelry discounts.

Compensation as a Kele & Co. Consultant

As a Kele & Co. consultant, you earn 30% to 50% on every sale, as well as 100% profit on free earned jewelry. You also earn up to 8% commission on your downline, which is the people you recruit to the company. The company assists you with maximizing your commissions by keeping your business costs low; for example, you are not required to carry inventory and the company ships your products from a centralized location. There are no minimum sales quotas and no recruiting requirements.

Thriving as an Kele & Co. Consultant

To thrive as a Kele & Co. consultant, you need to maximize your commissions so that you are earning at least 30% on each sale, though aiming for a 50% return will help you go farther. You also need to recruit others to the company so you can earn your 8% commission on their sales. In addition, the company offers the chance for you to earn free jewelry that you can sell at a 100% profit. You also have the chance to earn other prizes, ranging from household goods to a trip for two to Maui.

Is It for You?

To enjoy your career as a Kele & Co. consultant, you need to be comfortable with selling, either directly to individuals or through the party-hostess system. You should also be comfortable with recruiting others to the company so you can increase your commissions. It helps to be passionate about jewelry and about helping women look and feel their best.
