There is always laundry. While it's important to keep up with it, the hamper will never be empty. Sort it, wash it, dry it, fold it and put it all away. Complete the full mission or it doesn't count. To prepare healthy fare for the family, you will need to food shop to keep the pantry and refrigerator stocked. Once that routine is established, think about preparing simple breakfast and lunch menus. Eggs, breakfast meat and toast work great for a hearty start to the day. A sandwich or soup for lunch with a piece of fruit or a side of raw vegetables will do the trick. Don't forget the dinner menu. Remember to wash the dishes or, better yet, load up the dishwasher. Don't leave a mess on the kitchen counter, ever.
Set up a cleaning routine to keep the house in perfect order. Keep the floors clean in the commonly used areas by vaccuming or sweeping daily. Save the under-the-furniture and stairway vacuuming for once a week. Spot mop floors on a daily basis to keep things looking clean, but plan to do a thorough floor washing about once a week.
Thoroughly clean surfaces, such as countertops, with a quick daily wash using an antiseptic wipe. Plan to move everything off the countertop every other day for a more comprehensive cleaning. While cleaning surfaces, wipe down the inside of the refrigerator weekly. Dusting furniture can be a quick daily clean up while furniture polishing should be saved for a once-a-week activity.
Make the beds, remove any unnecessary clutter from tabletops and
counters, and keep area rugs and runners positioned for an immediate
