My professional debut!

I'm going to be the opener this weekend at Scott's Comedy Club in Old Sacramento:

the shows are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 8:30. If you're in the area, come on down! When you call for reservations, tell them you're coming to see Cheryl

You have to promise to laugh ( a lot, whether you think I'm funny or not ) for me ... the other comedians are awesome and I know that they will have you laughing too.

The Internet makes me worry about too many stupid things.

Lately, I've been thinking way too much about the classmates.com couple. You know, the "He married HER?" couple.

Did (let's call her Barb) Barb's photo just get selected from a pile of stock photos and now she has to endure taunts from her coworkers everyday, or did she agree to the ad campaign?
Either way, I hope she's okay with it.

Sure Barb might have been a little unfortunate looking in high school, but who wasn't? And now "Sparky" has hooked up with some blond bimbo and Barb became a model? Good for you Barb. You go girl, as the cool people say.

When did Starbucks turn into an office?

Don't get me wrong, I love being able to stop at Starbucks with my laptop when I'm out "on the road" waiting for my daughter, etc.

But I think there are more people working here than drinking coffee. Seriously, I count six laptops just in my little area.

Anyway ... thanks to Starbucks ... there are new jobs up on the jobs page.

I hope you all had a happy Mother's Day. I spent the day driving to seven different stores in search of vacuum cleaner bags. You wouldn't think they'd be that hard to find, would you? And it just isn't Mother's Day if I don't vacuum ...

The wallpaper is finally ALL gone. Yay.

My daughter and I spent Saturday at the State Finals for National History Day. This was her first year competing so going to State was a big deal for her. I think she might try for Nationals next year. Any other History Day fans out there?

Stop me before I wallpaper again.

So ... we're painting our living room/dining room, but first the old wallpaper has to come down. I feel like I've been peeling wallpaper for weeks. How come on Trading Spaces, they can say, "but first, we have to take down the old wallpaper." And then they go to a commercial break and come back ... and the wallpaper is gone. Why can't I do that?

If, for some reason, wallpaper ever comes back in fashion, and you read a blog of mine where I say, "I found the cutest wallpaper ..." STOP ME!

I feel better now.

Here's a crazy thing I did last weekend ... stand up comedy! No kidding.

Neil Leiberman presented a seminar in San Francisco that I attended. He is an awesome coach and really knows the business of comedy. He gave us all a chance to do a five minute set, so I did. It was REALLY scary, but really fun too. Stay tuned for future appearances, LOL.
