Before kids, you were a careerist, having climbed the corporate ladder, shattering the glass ceiling, and rubbing elbows with the big boys. Now that you’re a momma, you might be itching for your old life, but don’t necessarily want to work 80 hours a week and never see your kiddos.
So when you start your work-at-home job search, you might think that your pickings are going to be slim, since the bulk of work-at-home jobs tend to be of the customer service/administrative assistant/entry-level lot, right?
The jobs that made the FlexJobs list of "15 Executive-Level Jobs for Telecommuters" are pretty exciting, indeed. From chief financial officer to medical director, all of the jobs on the list are director-level (or above!), and offer some level of telecommuting, with some being 100 percent remote.
With a part-time schedule and remote work option, the chief financial officer will define a schedule of financial and operational reporting, develop company financial reporting structures, create budgeting systems, and more.
Working alongside the CEO, the chief operating officer will help build systems and structure, implement the company’s vision, manage leaders for three teams, and more. Fifteen or more years’ experience needed.
A remote interim CEO consultant is needed to provide oversight and daily management of medical directors and practice managers. The candidate must have a master’s degree in healthcare administration and 15+ years’ experience.
A nonprofit is seeking an executive director to handle overall management of the staff, develop and execute policies, serve as an external liaison, and secure programmatic and general operating funds. An advanced degree and at least seven years’ experience are needed.
A vice president based in New York City is needed to manage and support teams, grow sales, monitor performance, build partnerships, and resolve issues. This executive-level job requires at least five years of relevant experience.
Duties will include managing corporate and sales resources, achieving target revenue for the territory, developing customer relationships, and penetrating target accounts. 10+ years’ experience is needed.
A remote medical director is needed with board certification in oncology and/or hematology, extensive clinical experience, strong presentation skills, and the ability to provide medical monitoring/consultation.
Seeing these types of jobs is pretty exciting, not just for the fact that remote jobs are available at the C-level, such as COO, CEO, and CFO (and the pay that comes along with them!), but for the fact that working mothers can finally have a shot at work-life balance. With these remote job opportunities, it’s evident that WAHMs no longer have to choose career over family, or vice versa. Work-at-home moms can finally have the career that they worked so hard for, and still be able to raise their families cohesively and happily, and, dare we say, be in balance.
