Who has more free time? "working moms" or "at-home moms"?

I know this has the potential of becoming a "mommy wars" question, but that's not my intention.
I'm just curious to hear your opinions:
Who has more free time? "working moms" or "at-home moms"?

Time is available to everyone. It's how you use that time that is the key. I quit my job three months ago which was a 50+ hour per week career. With three children, it was important to find "free" time then and now that I am at home; it's still as important. Always put time aside for yourself, if you don't; you're worth less to those around you.

I work out of the home right now, attempting to find a way to work at home so I can be with my children. But after recently coming back from 11 weeks of maternity leave, it seems to me that both women that work out of the home and those that work in the home have their work cut out for them! Those that work out of the home find more free time with co-workers, like lunchtime. But then they go home to a whole other world to deal with, like spending time with their children, dinner, cleaning, laundry, etc. Those that work in the home have children to tend to almost 24 hours a day, and I noticed that errands seem to constantly pop up from nowhere! When I was home on maternity leave, I couldn't find enough time in the day. I do believe that either "mom", be it at home or out at the office, have their work cut out for them. I say "hats off to all of us!"

Assuming that "at-home moms" means moms who are working at home, I would have to say "working moms" have more free time. I was a working mom for many years, but when I came home I always tried to leave my job at the office and concentrate after 5:00 on my home and family. Even though I'm working from home now, I am also trying to build a new business. Therefore, I actually spend a great deal more time on my business than I ever would have working outside the home. Of course, there's still the home and kids to take care of as well. Also, because the "office" is so convenient, I'm apt to head in there and work during what would have been free time if I were still working outside the home.

I think working moms do because they plan for it. Neighbors, other moms, etc would never call a "working mom" and say "Can you pick my kid up - I'm busy". But they will always call an "at-home mom" even if she has an "at-home" business . They just don't understand the concept.

I think that working moms have more free time because they don't have their kids around alll day, they can talk with adults, during their breaks and also during lunch hour where they can relax. On the other hand at-home moms don't have free-time at all because children are very demanding.

I'm an at home mom of 3 boys, ages 5, 2 and 11 months and I will tell you I don't have any free time until they go to bed at night!

I have been both, work outside I worked 3:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.everyday . Now, that I am a work at home mom, personally I have more time to be with my children ages 10yr. boy & 6 year old girl. For me I have much better hours. Depending on your job, outside and inside the home will determine how much time you will have

I would say that at-home mons that have school age children have more time then any other moms. I say this because they have a better chance at getting more done during the day while the children are at school.
