New Year's Resolution Results

Last Year we asked WAHM.com readers to share their New Year's Resolutions. We recently checked in with a few of them to see if they were able to keep their resolutions. Here are a few of their results:

Resolution:
"Quit my full-time job and stay home with my son."
Result:
Well, I haven't quit, but I have moved to a part-time position and I've also started a home business. So I'm hoping that maybe by this time next year, I'll be home full-time.

Resolution:
"Lose weight, (at least 20 pounds) and expand my business so that my home business income equals my "real job" income.
Result:
I gained 20 pounds and made less money than I did the year before. Now I'm depressed. Thanks a lot.

Resolution:
"Now that my work-at-home job provides me with the income, I'm going to "make" the time to complete some of the house projects that I've been putting off."
Result:
Did I really say I was going to make time to do some of the house projects? Seems like a lifetime ago. Well, now that I have the money, I no longer have the time. However, I did manage to paint my boys' room. Pristine white enamel as far as the eye can see (above the piles of clothing and toys). Someday I hope to get a wallpaper border or stencil in there and a few pictures. It's been painted since June but so far only one picture has been hung. Part of me hates to put holes in the walls my husband spent three days patching, sanding and smoothing.
The fence got stained, although I was less than thrilled with the results. Next time I'll use a semi-transparent. I am gearing up to get my bedroom painted in January. Hubby wants it completed by January 31. So I promised him I would get it done in my spare (LOL) time or (horrors!) I would take time off of working to get it done.
I got the carpeting cleaned and rearranged all the furniture. I moved my office downstairs so I have my living room back. It was starting to drive me nuts. The whole house looked a mess with the office in the living room.
All in all, I'd have to say I did okay. I didn't get as much done as I'd like (whoever does?) but I did manage to accomplish a few things. Thanks for reminding me of what I had said I hoped to do this year. It's nice to be able to say, Yeah, I did get something done this year.

Resolution:
"Throw away all the junk I've been saving for years."
Result:
I've done a pretty good job. We have gotten rid of a lot of stuff that we really didn't need. Now I need to organize the "stuff" that is left.
