How did you observe "Stay Home With Your Kids Day"?
Your responses . . .
I decided to do homeschooling. Now we stay home together every day. My son and I are both very excited about work and school because we can create personalized, meaningful experiences for both business and learning!
This was just a normal day since I work at home and am with the kids every single day! I own a web design business and usually work insane hours so I can devote a lot of time to the kids during the day (a preschooler and a teenager). But I do think it is a good idea to have a Stay Home with Your Kids Day, and I'd be interested to find out how many full-time working parents participated. Even though this day didn't stand out for us, we do plan several things each week to break up the day -- for instance we went to the natural history museum today, or another day we might go swimming or to the library or park.
Wellll, I had good intentions, but... I had a sale at my website in honor of the day. I also sent out the press release and was contacted by our local paper! The reporter asked me if I had any special plans to which I replied no because part of why I like being a WAHM is the flexibility and spontaneity it allows me. As it turned out, though, my baby daughter came down with a fever, so I literally stayed home with my kids allllll day!
I was interviewed by our local radio station last week. They ran the interview on Monday, and now I have two new customers!
I took a vacation day from work. We spent the day painting rocks, (my kids favorite craft project) and we also took a walk to the park. Nothing too exciting, but we had a great day together. I really want to be a WAHM, I'm just trying to figure out what kind of business I can do from home!
